This is a 5Rythms ecstatic dance set I assembled for Valentine's Celebration of Love for my community.  There's a 30 minute warm up set, and the dance/intention begins at minute 22.

Into Self

This week we continue the self discovery process. We continue to untie the ribbons and bows, tear the pretty paper, and open the box, or multiple boxes that either society, or you, have placed around the colorful gem that is you. This is the community where you can let your colors shine, and our beauty is reflected and refracted off of each other. Let’s welcome in Pride month together while we dance the rainbow.

This set is an invitation to reflect on your relationship to time.  How has it changed over time?  What activties slow or speed it up?  Einstein found that time was relative to your frame of reference.  What are ways that we can alter that reference point, allowing us to flow more harmoniously with time.  Are the moments of deep loving connection slower or faster?  I hope you find enough time to dance through this time journey.

The set invites growth, both as an individual, but with the goal of reaching out for support in that process.  Enjoy.

Nurturing the Tender Shoots

This set provided the backdrop to practice being in flow and when flow is disrupted, recalibrating to the new.  It’s a practice of hello and goodbye, even goodbye to certain rhythms or a hello to dance your own rhythm regardless of the music.  In Buddhism we examine attraction and aversion, can we continue to have grace in the middle and not be pulled toward or away from that center.  Enjoy the practice!

The Grit in the Gears of Flow

A set to explore acceptance.  If you want to be more accepting of others, you must first come to accept yourself.  The inner critic loves to project out onto others all it's own shortcomings, flaws, and insecurities.  To build the world community we desire, we must start by accepting our own internal chorus of voices that want to limit us.  It may seem like a mission impossible, but the more we accept ourselves the more love we can share with others, and the more love returns to us.

Acceptance

This set is a journey into shadow, the lead of alchemy for our souls.  We see the collective human shadow playing out in devastating ways with war and suffering.  Can we stalk those shadows within ourselves, bring them into consciousness, retrieve those pieces of our soul that were lost in our life’s journey of survival in this realm.  That is the alchemy.  Turning shadow, or lead, on the consciousness, or gold.
