It's 4am & your ex girlfriend texts you out of the blue. You know it's a bad idea, but temptation takes control. "4am" is the anthem of bad decisions & heartbreak. The ranging vocals take you for a ride. From a catchy harmony on the hook, to the emotion-filled verses throughout. The lyrics create a visual for the listener. One of lust, love, and regret. With nuances of hiphop & trap music, the hard hitting 808's carry the song. While the melody & lyrics tell a tragic love story.

While I was composing my F-sharp minor Fantasy, I found myself stuck on a particular middle section, struggling to find the right variation to complete the piece. Eventually, I succeeded, but before that happened, I wrote numerous segments that didn’t quite fit into the piece.

Fortunately, some of these discarded variations began to resonate with each other, leading to the creation of smaller pieces that I grew very fond of. The first of these became my Prelude in F-sharp Minor, and the second, the Moment Musicaux in A Major.

These two compositions share some motivic figures down to the note, yet in feeling and meaning, they couldn’t be more different. Despite the brief scope of the Moment Musicaux in question, I believe there is much to discover within it, with every new small section providing something unique and unexpected.
