Ganz ruhige Töne kommen heute aus dem schönen Basel. Thom Monn ist ein alter Hase in der Basler Elektro-Szene und ein ganz besonderer Sound-Fetischist. Seine Sets erzeugen immer diese ganz besondere Stimmung denen man sich einfach nicht entziehen kann. Vor allem zwei Königsklassen der elektronischen Musik beherrscht er wie kein anderer --- zum einen ist er einer der besten Warm-Up DJs (hier sei sein Set „Warmup For Marek Hemmann“ erwähnt) und zum anderem ist er ein Virtuose der Ambient-Musik. Seine Ambient-Sets berühren die Seele, sind dann auch gerne mal melancholisch aber doch bleibt immer eine gewisse Zuversicht und Liebe zurück.

Thom vielen Dank, das du dir trotz dieses für dich so schweren 2016, die Zeit genommen hast uns so eine schöne Auszeit von der Realität zu zaubern.

The production duo of Christopher Mohn and Reagan Denius revolutionized themselves into Dance Spirit, a philosophy based on attaining subconscious harmony through rhythm, timbre, melody, and movement. They combine Reagan’s formal music and computer programming training with Chris’s burning passion for dance music and DJing to create a duo of true synergy.

Dance Spirit presents a more refined sound that creates and conveys beautiful emotions utilizing music as their universal language. Their love of heavy layering and deep rolling low ends produce an addictive futuristic minimal techno vibe in their productions and live sets. Dance Spirit has graced the stages of world-class festivals and events such as Coachella, Desert Hearts, Piknik Electronic, City Fox, Lightning in a Bottle, and Sacbe. They are also residents of the infamous Flying Circus parties.

Their music catalogue has released on some of the industry’s most highly esteemed labels such as Supernature, Rebellion, Get Weird, Maison D’Etre, Superfreq, Kindisch, Culprit, Akbal Music, and Endless, No. 19, and Connaisseur Recordings. As you might have guess, Dance Spirit has been making well-crafted waves in the music scene and always on the rise.

This initially started off as a mix of our favorite electronica tunes, but we started going through our personal vaults and found we had a surprising amount of material that would constitute the perfect ambient mix while showcasing a different shade of color other than dance. We had a lot of fun doing this and are very grateful for the opportunity to show this side of our production art.

On October 13th of 2018 The Sw0mp* hosted a dance party with interactive swamptivities, chill space, and amazing decor at a rad location in Berkeley. 

It was my pleasure to open the night with some of my favorite dark, slow, and passionate melodies, and then dance through the rest of it to the dopest, funkiest, and weirdest jams played by friends old and new.
