Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, @nat-barrera 's creative involvement with music began when he picked up the drums at the age of 12. 
In 2006, he moved to Montreal, Canada, where he has been producing music 
ever since. He plays regularly across the city and region, as well as in renowned venues around the world.  
His distinctive sound matured into an eclectic yet balanced blend of Organic House, and unique world music influences characterized by a defined percussive rhythm and his Latin-American roots. 
Over the years, Nat has had several releases and collaborated with many labels (Grrreat Recordings, 8day, Cosmovision Records, Trndmsk, The Magic Movement, New Latam Beats, O’Tawa, etc.). He is also the recipient of Montreal’s Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] 2019 Euterke prize in the DJ/Producer category.

Terror/Cactus is excited to announce the new remix of “Encuentro Surrealista” by Los Angeles producer, Mario Hernandez, a.k.a. StrangeStrains. The original track, “Encuentro Surrealista” is a gritty, vintage psychedelic cumbia with fully live instrumentation released by Terror/Cactus in January 2024. The StrangeStrains remix, performed and captured on a hardware sampler, adds elements of dub and trip hop with a raw and organic urban feel. The remix is scheduled to be released on all platforms on March 22, 2024 and will be available for free download on Bandcamp. Drawing inspiration from nature, the song “Leafhopper” began with an audio sample of the insect whose name inspired the title. Through experimentation and improvisation, the track evolved to incorporate tropical rhythms, jazzy influences, and a strong melodic theme brought to life by Detroit saxophonist, Jake Shadik.

Shika Shika presents Forastero, the new full length album from Terror/Cactus that explores themes of identity, memory, perception, and mysticism. Forastero, which translates to “outsider” or “foreigner”, is a reflection on the experiences of immigrants, troubadours, and displaced people - bringing up feelings of isolation, solitude, and introspection, while simultaneously evoking the freedom of roaming in nature and dreaming of a world that is beyond borders. Featuring collaborations with artists such as Pahua, Rumbo Tumba, Barrio Lindo, and Corina Lawrence, Forastero encompasses a musical landscape filled with electronic folk, dark cumbia, and psychedelic beats. 

The first single from Forastero features a collaboration with Mexican artist, Pahua. “Donde Estás Tú” blends Terror/Cactus’s dark bone-rattling beats with the dreamlike vocals of Paulina Sotomayor to transport the listener into a cavernous dimension filled with magic. 

The focus track for the album, titled “Sombra”, is a dark psychedelic cumbia with vibrato guitars, deep 808’s, and glitched-out beats. Accompanied by a music video shot in a lush PNW forest, it is inspired by the song “Vidala para mi Sombra” by Argentine folk legend, Atahualpa Yupanqui. The music video uses modern dance to explore the idea of a shadow as a metaphor for the dark and mysterious parts of our being that follow us throughout life.

First released back in 2013, You Man's debut EP Restless -and its lead track Birdcage- launched the career of French duo Tepat Huleux and Giac Di Falco, kickstarting a decade of stunning live shows played all around the globe and acclaimed releases and remixes on labels such as as Tronik Youth’s NEIN, Boston Bun’s Circa’99 and Eskimo Recordings. 

Now, to celebrate their first ten years in the game Huleux and Di Falco have revisited their debut EP, and this time they've brought along some of the many friends they've made over the past decade. 

Fellow Calais producers Numérobé takes things in a completely different direction, turning in a stuttering techno remix, that glitches and spins off in increasingly abstract and uncertain directions.

In celebration of the five-year anniversary of Corriente EP, Terror/Cactus breathes new life into the song "Tambor del Monte" with a captivating remix by Miami-based Venezuelan producer, Venezonix. This single marks the beginning of a special series of remixes revisiting the tracks from the Corriente EP.

Originally released in 2019, "Tambor del Monte" captivated listeners with its mysterious, cinematic soundscape with rhythms rooted in Colombian percussion and infused with psychedelic electric guitar inspired by Peruvian chicha. Featured on Spotify’s Electrica Selvática editorial playlist and in Tiger King Season 2, the track became a signature piece for Terror/Cactus, bolstered by a memorable KEXP in-studio performance.

Now, Venezonix reimagines the track with a fresh, dancefloor-oriented energy. Layering Afro-Venezuelan rhythms with psychedelic synthesizers, the remix maintains the downtempo vibe of the original while adding dynamic new textures and energy. This collaboration stems from a connection forged through fellow artist Pahua and a shared live performance in Miami at Zey Zey, cementing a creative exchange between the two artists.

Perfect for dancefloor enthusiasts and late-night psychedelic explorers, "Tambor del Monte (Venezonix Remix)" offers a vibrant addition to the Terror/Cactus discography, bridging cultures and styles.

Atahuapa Yupanqui was an Argentine singer, songwriter, guitarist, and writer. He is considered the most important Argentine folk musician of the 20th century , @Ulize added his touch in this track to create the perfect Edit.

Terror/Cactus is a digital folklore and psychedelic electro-cumbia project led by Martín Selasco. Born in Buenos Aires and raised in Miami, the Seattle-based producer draws from wide variety of Latin-American influences in his productions including Argentine folk, Peruvian chicha, and Colombian cumbia. These influences are woven into hypnotic electronic beats featuring psychedelic guitars, dub lasers, and field recordings.
