''Life Is Pain'' is a musical piece in the form of alternative soundtrack of the Begotten movie (1991), replacing its original audio. It is a live built in real time during the viewing of the film, using drum machines, synthesizers and vocal effects. With this, I intend to express through the sound, the sinister, visceral, extreme and strange experience in equal parts, which evokes in our mind the visualization of each Begotten photogram, with aggressive and dark electronic styles as Noise, Power Electronics, Death Industrial and Dark Ambient. The power of impact, both sonorous and visual, has no other purpose than to imposingly delight of art to disturb our psyches and subconscious. With this alternative soundtrack I want to pay a tribute to one of the most important experimental horror films in history. 

Begotten is a 1991 American experimental dark fantasy horror film written, produced, edited and directed by E. Elias Merhige. It is a narration and re-imagining of the book of Genesis. In the story, a god uses a knife to mutilate himself, and dies. A woman comes along, and recognizing his godhood, uses his corpse to get pregnant, and gives birth to a son. The son and she are captured and disemboweled by a nomadic tribe. Presented in a surreal, gory and entirely visual manner, Begotten tells of the death of religion, the abuse of nature by Man and a nihilistic outlook on what life ultimately is.
