Plastician delves back into the territory of dusty, broken rhythms on his latest release for Terrorhythm inside it's 21st year of operations.
 
Trance stutters, drill inspired basslines and drums with so much dirt on them they could be ripped directly off the floor of a second hand vinyl shop. It's new from Stish, but the nostalgia on this one still hits somehow, evoking memories of productions predating the Youtube tutorial era where the loudness war took it's stronghold on the majority of electronic music's output.

"Infinite Content Loop" was written by Plastician with the intention of it serving as a monotonous and menacing backdrop to the feeling of dread that overcomes you every day knowing you need to get on social media and post some engaging content. The idea was not to create something particularly uplifting, but a constant tone of dread and pressure brought about by the never ending bass loop and dark atmospherics, backed by a building percussive section that brings the needed progression in a more subtle way.

In true Plastician style, it's designed to sit between many of the genres he spins in his own sets. Influences are pulled from UK Garage, Dubstep, Techno, Breaks and more, in order to create a DJ tool that serves as the glue between them. With a remix from UK music hero Zed Bias, this is a versatile release that we hope resonates with you.

This one does exactly what it says on the tin.

25 of Plastician's most famed productions, under the "Plasticman" alias, remastered in all their glory, and available digitally - many for the first time. With some tracks dating as far back as 2001, and the most recent (Unhappy Shopper) being released over 9 years ago, this is an album for enthusiasts of the classic grime sound which is still imitated by many to this very day.

Included in the 25 are 4 previously unreleased tracks, Cha VIP, The Lift VIP, Deep - a track previously only spun by Slimzee and Hatcha on dubplate around 2002, and "We Like The Dark", a somewhat legendary collaboration between Skream and Plastician which also dates back to the days when the terms "Grime" and "Dubstep" were non existent. These four tracks will only be made available to people who purchase the full album on Bandcamp, where the exclusive "Deluxe" version is available.

New York native Noah B arrives on Terrorhythm for his debut release, Night's Edge.

Having been a key part of this sound's emergence through his support for it on Rinse FM, Plastician felt that it was time to begin presenting it through his Terrorhythm imprint. Still without a real name or true identity as a genre of it's own, it's being referred to by many simply as "Wave" whilst it finds it's feet. 

Noah B's unique take on the style draws in the trademark eerie pads, hip hop and trap style drum patterns and mixes them with his blend of great synth and bass lines. With small nods to more club oriented sounds and drum patterns, his take is unique in the sense that it feels more club ready than a lot of the productions from many of his peers in the movement.

ZEKE BEATS - Meltdown [NEST HQ Premiere]



Diving deeper into the wave pool, next up on Terrorhythm is Deadcrow with a four track E.P. of sounds drawing influence from instrumental grime and the emerging wave scene which has been championed by Terrorhythm head honcho Plastician on his Rinse FM shows of the past few years.

Listeners of the show will certainly recognise WiFi, IDK, Krai and Last Kiss. All of which embodying the ethereal traits becoming trademarks of the wave sound, with the punch of instrumental grime apparent in the drum work particularly, the tracks on the release vary in tempo from 120 bpm to 140 bpm but Deadcrow's full and complete production style never wanders short of engrossing you within the songs, leaving you short of breath at any pace.

We expect this one to really make waves (excuse the pun)!

Plastician’s Terrorhythmn imprint have been breathing plenty of life into the mutated, hybrid club sounds emerging from both UK and US beat-makers over the past two years, crucially spotlighting producers like Ganz, AWE, Patrick Brian and JD Reid for the first time.

The latest name to emerge from the camp, Klasey Jones, has been bubbling under for the past year, with his tracks earning heavy rotation on Plastician’s Rinse FM show in particular — itself often a valuable resource for those seeking a link between grime, drill and instrumental, cloud-wave rap.

Jones’ debut EP — the widescreen, cinematic ‘Foreign Buyers Club’ — is a profound case in point, linking the above sub-genres with flashes of 80s synth music, anime OSTs and some genuinely one-of-a-kind sound design.

At five tracks long, Jones is also able to explore the variants to his sound fully across the EP; see the morbid dystopia of opener ‘Area 55’ for example, or conversely, the hazy, string-led romance on ‘Gang Gang’.

With over 150 instrumentals currently sat on his hardrive, Jones’ potential is limitless, but ‘Foreign Buyers Club’ serves as the perfect introduction to where he’s headed.

18 months on from the now legendary DJ mix "The Wave Pool MMXV", Plastician presents the much anticipated follow up mix, this time with an accompanying 29 track album of the tracks included within.

The question asked of the first mix was whether or not a new sound was emerging out of the internet - 18 months on, and countless great productions since, this collection of tracks from some of the Wave movement's key players and new blood seeks to gain approval of the Wave genre's arrival.

Om Unit's seminal "Corridor E.P." is revisited by Terrorhythm, a decade on from the original production with fresh takes from Sorsari and Danny Scrilla of the lead track "The Corridor".

Hand picked by Om Unit himself, Scrilla and Sorsari excel in breathing new life into a song that somehow still sounds relevant and as forward thinking as it did ten years ago when it was receiving it's early support on Rinse FM and the like, giving birth to Jim Coles' Om Unit project we've all come to know and love since.

Klasey Jones returns to the fold for his first release of 2018, in the shape of the much anticipated "Starlight One" E.P. - a collection of tracks produced with influences from a neo-futuristic vision of the far east.

Including a few of his most sought after dubs, Tokyo Lifestyle and Told You So are two many of his early fans have been awaiting release for some time now and bolster what is another solid release from the consistent beatsmith.

Fans of both his projects on Terrorhythm will be enamoured by the luscious cinematics from "War In The Bando" right up to the fast paced neon tinged roller "Vertical Loops" which sees Klasey stray into higher tempos to close out his most versatile E.P. yet.

More big things to come from this young producer no doubt.

Plastician and Spanish production starlet Juche link up for a unique and fun take on Juche's previously released "eNight" track. Repackaging the release is a new version from Plastician, which strips back much of the original's Trance roots to give it a more subtle and UK approach. He reached out to Juche after hearing the original on shuffle whilst driving, and constantly humming a 2 step drum beat in his head - a few months down the line and here we are listening to his UK Garage inspired version of a Trance track. Unlike anything we've released before, we're excited to see how this one translates!

Canadian native Yedgar appears on Terrorhythm for an extended outing, after featuring on Plastician's Wavepool 2 and 3 albums successively.

Life Cycle is a selection of tracks which sit neatly in the gaps between Wave and Grime, in a time where the sound of Wave is pushing ever closer to a mainstage audience as it infiltrates pockets of the EDM community. Yedgar navigates soundsets that lean on influences from OG wave artists like Sorsari, whilst perhaps unknowingly also paying homage to the sounds of artists like MSSINGNO across the 5 tracks, which hover around 140 bpm - a tempo that has been synonymous with the Terrorhythm label, but perhaps less so in our outings within the Wave genre. With the influences from Sorsari in the mix, it's extra exciting for us to offer up a collaboration between Yedgar and Sorsari to open up the E.P. on "Mythic" before winding our way through 4 more tracks which explore an increasing energy and clever use of vocal hooks.
