Stationed over 5,000 miles away from our Chicago base, Turkish producer Fosil continues to rise as a prolific creator in his respective city of Istanbul. Founder of Badmash Collective, he has been a true leader of his respective underground bass music community - our newest release with him expands his credentials well past the confines of his own turf, aiming clearly towards international stardom.

An experienced selector with an eclectic taste in modern club music, “Sulky IDs” is derived from what inspires a late night Fosil DJ set: aggressive dancefloor equations that span from raunchy breakbeats to highspeed rhythms. Advanced in nature yet rough around the edges, the release serves more as a compilation of random tracks that have slowly developed throughout Fosil’s bass excavations. With a more organic approach to it, the result feels humanizing - moody and ill-humored like himself.

Fosil’s production range is effortlessly showcased throughout “Sulky IDs.” The humorous sampling in “Allahless” and “Serial Chiller,” the floor-stomping aggression of “Askhole,” and the pristine breakbeat programming in “Refleks” all make up a sonically diverse ecosystem. Lighthearted at times, yet serious when it needs to be, “Sulky IDs” is a clear nod to UK-influenced bass music that has raided worldwide airwaves over the last few years.

Fosil continues to upgrade his arsenal of dancefloor weaponry with a fresh batch of gloomy tunes that may be exported from Turkey, but are undeniably prepared to reshape the expanding global club sphere.
