Winter is approaching and here at Nang towers, nights are cold and it’s time to warm up proceedings. The heat is served in the guise of Proper Heat’s latest temperate single with a flaming Ilya Santana’s remix.

On 3rd of November we will drop the new EP from one of our favourite bands, Vilnius’ Proper Heat. The trio has previously released 4 singles on the label, mixing lead singer Karolis Ramoška’s incredible voice with Saxtone and Martin Vigin’s producing skills, creating their unique style which goes from Italo to Cosmic Disco, from 80’s Synth Pop to modern Deep House. On the 3rd of November they return with the double single ‘Believe/On & On’ backed up with remix from Ilya Santana, someone who has released on the likes of Permanent Vacation and Eskimo Recordings and remixed people like Human League, Dolly Parton, Lindstrom & the Phenomenal Handclap Band.

The EP opens with Proper Heat’s ‘Believe’: a cavernous chord's melody introduces the track’s dancefloor–oriented House groove before Karolis’s lyrics kick in, merged with a deep rhythmical bass-line and smooth ethereal synth-lines. Ilya Santana’s version of the original track is a proper Cosmico Disco cut. The producer takes the original chord melody and re-elaborates it, fusing it with spacey uplifting synths and and a jumpy arp/bass-line, dropping towards the tracks length the sampled and delayed vocals.

The second half of the single is composed by Proper Heat’s 2 different versions of ‘On & On’. The first version is a Pop light-headed track, carried by Ramoška’s unique voice, while the second is a down-tempo re-interpretation of the original, in which a funky bass-line and groove are mixed with bossanova percussions and sexy soulful key-melodies.

Just to brighten up your day, we've decided to bring you the best piece of sleek and sleazy disco-drama we've heard since stumbling out of DJ Harvey's set at the weekend, and it's coming to you courtesy of Permanent Vacation signing Kauf. With a new album on the way, he's been kind enough to let us have a quick sneak peak at the goods in the form of this utterly fantastic Fort Romeau remix of "Through the Yard."

If you like swimming pools and cocktails and sunrises and sunsets you're in luck because this is the perfect soundtrack to lounging about before a slap up last-night-of-the-holiday dinner where mum lets you have a big pudding AND two cokes. What a treat!

Kauf - Through The Yard (Fort Romeau Remix)

Four floaty dubs & re-rubs from San Francisco's Ryan Bishop aka The Beat Broker (Bear Funk, Flexx, Adult Contemporary, etc).  Many heads probably best know Ryan as the brains behind DREAM CHIMNEY, one of the longest-running and most consistently interesting online hangouts for like-minded music freaks.

This 12" busts loose with "Satin Kimono," a funky floor-filler with the most perfect AOR song title in existence. "Make It Happen" cools the A-side down with a mellow yet uplifting soft rock groover; dubby voices beckon the listener to break free and never look back.

"Honey It's You" is a pumped up edit of an old 'Chimney classic and was crafted specifically as a wedding gift for fellow Dream Chimney member Hatchback - now available for the first time in a physical format!  "Larceny Dub" soars to new heights of AOR bliss, featuring an extensive re-working of a record that was passed along to Ryan by an ex-Deadhead neighbor.

Singer-song-writer and ex-Soho Doll, Maya von Doll is set to release her new single 'Is This Love' on December 10, 2012.

Maya's new Moombahpop single – a genre pioneered by Dillon Francis and Diplo (Mad Decent) – is a collaboration with German DJ duo Robs & Duke. Maya contacted the German DJs after hearing their remix of Mad Decent artist 'South Rakkas' , and the three began to work together earlier this year. Robs & Duke have been featured twice on the Mad Decent label blog and all of their tracks are free downloads at: www.soundcloud.com/robsduke

The driving force behind electro-rock band Soho Dolls, Maya is a singer-songwriter with sass and style. Of Lebanese and English parentage, life in the UK started in Maya's pre-teen years, fleeing the war that was tearing her homeland apart. This also proved to be the first step on a different kind of journey – one of musical discovery.

“My earliest memory of music had the sub bass provided by Syrian, Israeli, French, British and US artillery. We’d take cover from the bombs in the sandbagged ground floor entrance to our building in Beirut and I’d listen to the family Walkman on repeat to drown out the sound of shelling. It was my mother’s tape collection of Blondie, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode…”

She found her voice in song-writing and found herself forming a group in London called Soho Dolls. Signed to Alan McGee’s Poptones label, the band managed to clock up an impressive 3 million youtube views, toured the world regularly and had their songs featured on some massive TV shows including Gossip Girl, Nip/Tuck, Californication, Drop Dead Diva, The Hills and Vampire Diaries – gaining a loyal, global fan base along the way.

Upon splitting from the band, Maya honed her skills co-penning much of Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts' debut album, 'Cinderella's Eyes', including her first hit ‘Beat of My Drum’ (produced by Dimitri Tikovoi and Diplo).

"For Nicola, I’d imagined a ‘Pon de Floor’ style song that was overlaid with Uffie-like vocals and cheerleader chants… and everyone loved it. I was happy to bring a slice of the underground to the forefront of UK pop.”

The vivacious singer has locked horns with some of the biggest, most-forward thinking producers in the business – including Dimitri Tikovoi (Placebo, The Horrors, Nicola Roberts), Tim Skold (Marilyn Manson), and MNEK (Misha B, Rudimental) and is currently working on her debut solo album.

“I fell in love with club music,” she explains. “I was obsessed with acts like Major Lazer, Boys Noize, Bloody Beetroots and the Ed Banger sound. Hearing those mind-blowing synths and super processed beats was like discovering real music as a teenager all over again. It was the first time in years that I was genuinely excited.”

'Is This Love' is released 10 December 2012
