Beta 2 - Carter [Premiere]

Beta 2 has been mastering the art of production for years, blending jazzy elements with cinematic depth to create truly immersive Drum & Bass. He’s long been one of the most exciting artists on Metalheadz, so it’s a real treat to see him back with a fresh three-tracker, ‘White Dahlia’.

The title track takes a different approach, stripping things back with organic, live instrument-driven sounds rather than the usual synth-heavy style—it’s a real breath of fresh air.

On the flip of a limited edition white 10” lathe cut, ‘Kerb Kruncher’ throws it back to the early 2000s with raw energy and gritty textures, delivering some proper nostalgia.

Closing things out, ‘Carter’ is classic Beta 2—deep, moody, and dripping in atmosphere, with those signature noir vibes and rich double bass tones.

Having been dabbling in production for the best part of 15 years now, it's likely you will have only become aware of the name Wagz in the last 2-3 years. In that time. and with a steady output on a slew of respected labels, the Sheffield-based producer has crafted a mature but infectious sound.

The 'Back Burner EP' showcases Wagz's masterful use of vocal samples, adding depth and character to each track. Drawing inspiration from the beloved mid-2000s era while infusing his own contemporary warmth, this release strikes the perfect balance between nostalgia and innovation.

The Hadean ( /ˈheɪdiən/) is a geologic eon of the Earth predating the Archean. It began with the formation of the Earth about 4.6 billion years ago and ended, as defined by the ICS, 4 billion years ago. 

"Hadean" (from Hades, the Greek god of the underworld) describes the hellish conditions then prevailing on Earth: the planet had just formed and was still very hot owing to its recent accretion, the abundance of short-lived radioactive elements, and frequent collisions with other Solar System bodies.

Earth’s surface was incredibly unstable during the early part of the Hadean Eon. Convection currents in the mantle brought molten rock to the surface and caused cooling rock to descend into magmatic seas. Heavier elements, such as iron, descended to become the core, whereas lighter elements, such as silicon, rose and became incorporated into the growing crust.
