Depuis 2020, Soleil Rouge se caractérise par la rencontre d’esprits souhaitant penser et partager des espaces de création sincères et sensibles au regard des bouleversements que nous connaissons. Premier Rayon résulte de la première édition de Paturia. Un séjour en communauté s’établissant à Mazirat (03), ayant pour cœur la découverte et la promotion d’arts musicaux et visuels.

Love is an emotional capacity without boundaries. It is the inherent beauty of life and light, flowing from within our body and mind. The alchemy of intimacy and devotion helps us to ascend from darkness, filling our soul with a clear radiant energy. Like a beaming star, our compassion and affection heal us by releasing our trauma in katharsis.

The compilation “No Limits, All Love” is the 12th release of katharsis, celebrating our first anniversary with 10 poignant tracks from artists novel to the label. With the title as a thematic starting point and additional references of gratitude, healing and growth, the contributing artists were invited to interpret their experiences of kathartic purgation and salvation through music.

To commence the compilation, the Egyptian Ma3azef-affiliated artist ABADIR engages us with his spellbinding track “Clearance”, before the British sound-designer Phrixus gets our bodies moving to his wonky “Unintentional Alchemy”. Debuting local Danish artist Bloszum takes the pace down again with the hypnotizing piano-infused hymn, “Beauty Is Only Crystal Deep”, followed by the daybreaking floater “Flamma” by Uruguayan artist Balas De Agua.

Subsequently, French producer Zero Crossing Point delivers a stellar spectrum of emotion on “Our Ascension” ahead of the sentimental receptacle of heartbreak on the track “Vesper” by French artist Awbluu. The energy dives deep into the trancelike state of our subliminal mind on Nexcyia’s “wrapped(up)”, as danish duo J Sliwa, consisting of label founder jjjacob and his partner in crime Lighyer, shoots for the stars with celestial cannons on the track “Light Is Within”. The compilation culminates in climax on the motivational rave-anthem “Don’t Be Sad” by the Swedish YEAR0001-affiliated duo Quit Life, before Santebela closes the album with grandiose piano phrases bathed in reverb on “save me”.

Napoli-based Montreal artist CECILIA presents her ﬁrst full-length album, Adoration, out May 4th 2018 on digital formats and limited edition gold coloured vinyl. The 33minute, 10-track LP follows last year’s visual EP Charity Whore, released on Yves Tumor’s Grooming Label. CECILIA is the dissociative metamorphosis of multidisciplinary artist Mélissa Gagné, whose practice spans music, video, installation, performance and theatre. Active in Montreal, New York and now based in Italy, she recently collaborated on two songs on Les Fleurs du Mal, the latest album from Halcyon Veil founder Rabit. Her musical output under previous DJ/producer alias Babi Audi includes harrowing electronic releases Club Dead LTD (Hoss Records, 2015) and Mommy Dust (self-released, 2015) as well as the visual concept mix 6 Page Letter (DIS magazine, 2016). Gagné is also the creator of hybrid stage works, notably Nailed High (Mutek, 2017) and Sochi Snow (Sight & Sound, 2015). Adoration is her most reﬁned, delicately crafted effort to date. Entirely written, composed and produced by CECILIA, Adoration is a lucid-dream immersion into a state of deep, personal interiority. The album’s 10 experimental tracks move through a desolate soundscape, hollowed out yet humid with emotion. Here, in this phantasmagoria, loss and romanticism commingle.  Wielding bare-essence fragments of synth, guitar and beat improvisations, polyglot vocalizations from original poems and ﬁlm samples, CECILIA creates a distilled language of tactile sound and intimate utterance. The album’s evocative textures are arranged with devastating restraint and speciﬁcity- muted plucked strings, hobbled beats, a metallic trill, a wobbly horn line, sirens wailing in dialogue; some gather the substance of leitmotif. And all the while, threading through Adoration is the female voice. Breathless, plaintive, incantatory, in French, English and Italian we hear from the artist, her friend Jasmine Pisapia, the poet, activist and prostitute Grisélidis Réal, the actress Jeanne Moreau : a ventriloquy act by CECILIA. “You are in a psychic chamber and premonitory voices reach you from all sides. The album is an inner dialogue one must have with oneself but also a conversation one must have with the most malicious interlocutor. One is summoned to whisper truth and beauty to demon ears.”

ptpf is an acronym derived from the surname of Russian producer Ilya Potapov. Coming from Saint Petersburg, Potapov has been self-releasing comprehensive collections of sorely wrenched music for the past couple years. His first two projects under the ptpf moniker - '1935' and 'G.D. ' (dating back to 2015 and 2016, respectively) somewhat resemble the formula fundamental for the haunting atmosphere of an early witch house or other industrial offshots. Although the experimental nature of ptpf's works is evident throughout these releases, the transition towards more abstract realms manifests utterly on his 2019 album 'Salivation'. Coming out via the already-cult label Quantum Natives, 'Salivation' sees ptpf embracing the disorder and the tensity that was previously tamed and now has been let loose entirely. Gin&Platonic are now pleased to present ptpf's follow-up musical instalment - 'obsession'.

On 'obsession', Potapov's signature distant muttering collides with abraded power electronics, together creating a four-track EP full of dreadful emotional confession not everybody is ready to hear out loud. The disturbing nature of the project evokes a gradual dissociation from a long-forgotten tenderness into an emotional imbalance and urgent confusion. What once felt like affection, now feels like an obsession.

The leading single 'Shibari' is remixed by @rina-priduvalova, a Ukrainian interdisciplinary artist who released her first EP 'The Tears Of Things' in 2019. She is now in the process of preparing multiple audiovisual projects together with Diana Azzuz as Ximena. We also reached out to Greek rhythmic alchemists @ice_eyes, whose releases we have on heavy rotation, having received a slamming remix of 'Nobody´s Fault'. Last but not least, the endlessly creative brain behind Quantum Natives themselves - @ornine - closes the release with a sublime rework of 'Last Record'.
