If you ask what is happening here ;-) Well, I switched from a Cubase-based product to Ableton live some time ago and am trying to learn more ;-) 

So I made a mini circus-goa-tech-whatever-you-say-it-is-song that was actually meant for beat practicing.  It's a bit circus-like, so: Manege frei! subtitled: "Stressed out clowns" ;-)  

For this little one I made some colourful video again with a little bit of AI and some rushy footage of a small trip to Innsbruck and some sportive bikers in Vienna :-) If you wanna listen to the whole track you can hear/see on my youtube /@chrisdebug or on my soundcloud /chrisdebug

Since I am not sure if I mixed it the right way (usually don't do so bassy music) , so I guess earphones maybe an upgrade for the experience ;-)

Manege frei! OR A stressed out Clown

There is a song with a great new collaboration partner of mine: Boerni, who has a wonderful voice and also plays electric zither (which is actually an traditional Austrian instrument and seldomly found as an electronic 🔌 version). We met rather by chance, but sometimes it's just from such coincidences that something new arises. 🌞 So I'm proud to show you a small snippet of the new track "Grasshopper"

The song is meant to show collage-like the torn sides of (I guess) each person. It is meant to show on one side the lostness/helplessness that can overtake you in everyday life. In the second half you can hopefully hear that it always goes up again ;-)

Vienna-based live electronic artist ChrisdeBug is back with her second EP "Manege frei!". This release marks the beginning of her new series "Chrisdebug & her humanoid Companions", in which she collaborates with artists from different genres and backrounds. 

Three of the five tracks of the new EP "Manege frei" are the result of collaborations with artists from different genres, adding not only an extra layer to the musical tapestry but also diverse instruments to the listining experience.

The first title "Holding on" features a colloberation with the Austrian producer, saxophone player and composer Markus Pagitsch, shows a dancy 80is-feel song dealing with the sometimes simple but never easy ways of desires. 

The track "Manege frei!" sets the tone to a sound that remindes some of a stressed out circus clown at a GOA performance, creating a playful but surrealistic atmosphere. 

Then "Money Fame," featuring modular_HALL is intended to show the inner conflict between partly externally imposed cravings and the often numbing opportunities of true reality which is served with influences of bass house and hip hop.

"Some other Day" introduces Boerni, a Vienna-based female singer, performer and zither player and reinvents a song written by ChrisdeBug. 

The last title on the EP "What? - Verquere Sache" plays with the possibilities of the old and new fashion of sound and features the classic Casio SK1 sound.

For our latest Bleep Mix instalment, Sandwell District come through with a hefty programming of dark rollers fulfilling that promise of reinvigorated purpose they mentioned before: “Having a good time”. And with a wealth of exclusive unheard material it’s hard to refute the mission statement. Dropping straight into the cavernous environs of an unreleased Regis side Frosty Jack’s, the selection rides a restrained line building tension through a number of Nastia Reigel tracks deployed with utmost precision before upping its stride with Luke Slater’s Planetary Assault Systems and quickly landing first peak from The Wizard himself, with Jeff Mills' slamming ‘93 cut Step to Enchantment (Stringent). Taking in a track from their comrade Surgeon’s forthcoming album, as well as the simmering acid of their own tune Hidden, Sandwell District bring it back round full circle via two further unreleased reworks of heroes Meat Beat Manifesto providing a breakbeat singed rupture to close out the proceedings with the vocal snatches of MBM’s Helter Skelter summing it all up really: “It's in my brain now. This is it!”

I decided to upload the recording of my set at Bucht der Träumer since I fell in love with this festival. I am really happy I was invited to play at the Porto Loco stage early Saturday morning. I began playing in the darkness of the night and finished when the sun came up ( #kitsch ) in front of some friends and many strangers. When I turned around I saw a huge engine, the lake and one or the other lonely rubber duck floating around ( #surreal ).
