G TOWN RECORDS returns in style with a sophomore release from Brisbane’s finest - X CLUB. Following on from enthralling electro and techno EPs on Steel City Dance Discs and 1Ø Pills Mate respectively, the pair show their full deck of cards with ‘NOW OR NEVER’, a four track representation of driving top down in the pouring rain. 

Having risen up through the ranks of Brisbane’s colourful club scene, Ben and Jesse’s electric pairing has offered up some of electronic music’s freshest tracks in the past year; these four being picked straight from the root, pressed directly to wax and straight to your doorstep via Galway City. 

We kick off with ‘Concentrate’; an unrelenting rolling mesh of drums and tense vocals that culminate to X CLUB’s almost signature UK break sound that doesn’t skimp in intensity. Following on from that we’re met with one of the most in demand tracks of the past year following constant radio and club play, ‘Inna Trance’; an audio representation of a noughties donk and trance fan’s Las Vegas wedding gone wrong. 

We flip to the B side where the aptly titled ‘SPORTS THAT REQUIRE PETROL’ takes us back to the gym for a performance enhanced drum workout before drowning us in pads and letting us up for air as we approach the emotional crescendo that is the final track. ‘Elevation’ sees the listener don their best Ryan Gosling-esque driving gloves before embarking on a rain soaked journey to finish the job; it really is NOW OR NEVER. 

GTOWN002 stamps X CLUB’s place among the elites right now and certifies G TOWN RECORDS as a label not to be ignored going forward into a brave new world.

Lyon, France’s LB aka LABAT inaugurates his new imprint Poumpet Records this February with its first single, ‘Feel The Beat’, backed by a remix from Australia’s partiboi69.

Over the past seven years Strasbourg-born now Lyon-based, DJ, Producer and Live Act LB aka LABAT has been soul drenched, dusty House, Techno, Electro and Downtempo grooves via the likes of Wolf Music, Steel City Dance Discs, Groovedge Records and course his own Alélah Records run alongside Polow with a focus on cassette and vinyl releases. Here though we see LB aka LABAT open a new chapter in his career with the launch of his new imprint Poumpet Records which will be dropping a single every month throughout 2022 alongside remixes from some kindred spirits along the way.

To set the tone of Poumpet Records, LABAT launches with debut single ‘Feel The Beat’, a dynamic rave-tinged groove fuelled by hip-house vocal chants, crunchy, organic drums and an amalgamation of jazzy keys, wandering strings and airy atmospherics throughout its near eight-minute duration.

Mutual Pleasure and Unprotected Records artist partiboi69 also steps in on remix duties to kick things off, upping the energy levels even more with a robust, broken rhythm and snaking arpeggio bass hooks ebbing and flowing amongst fragments of the original’s vocal lines and ethereal pads.

Sascha Bouché is from Hannover (Germany), producer and techno DJ.
He loves the synths of the 80s and the pumping techno! 
Already in 1998 he played as house DJ at 'Groove Planet', later with techno at 'H.de.M.', 'SoapClub' and then 'Liquid' and others.
His first release together with 'Andi de luxe' as 'Mezzomatic' in 2003 and some releases and remixes followed.
Sascha worked in Andi's record store and is the owner of Pong Recordings, which he brought back to life in 2020.

Sascha was not active for nine years because he was building his tattoo shop.

In 2020 Sascha's first techno releases came on Pure Dope Digital, Red Eclipse Recordings, DSR Digital and Disskghast Recordings, and in 2022, on UKR.

He's now a resident again, this time at 'KLUB PAN' in Hanover.

'House Music' : House Music is the namesake for my first E.P. on my beloved Bunkaball label. When I came up with the idea for this track, I always had to think of the classic of the same name by the great Eddie Amador. Haha. :)
For me, the Roland drums are always the center of attention.
The rest usually comes by itself. :)

'Work My Body' : Probably every Dj has a record with this title in his case. :)
You just can't go wrong with the vocals. Add a cool, driving groove, a pushing melody and stir hard, done!

'Get Up' : Pumping 909 rhythm with a very hypnotic chord line and the repeated request 'Get up!'. The melody swings back and forth and completely confuses you.
The sharp hihats push you forward and the clap hits you in the face.
So it must be on the dance floor! ;)

After a solid start to 2020 with Matadors groove laden “Desire” packing out dancefloors worldwide, RUKUS welcomes a newcomer to the label, in the shape of true musical pioneer, Skream.

The Croydon native has almost 20 years under his belt as a producer, spanning genres and BPMs, racking up releases with renowned labels such as Boysnoize Records, Crosstown Rebels, Hotflush and Solid Grooves, exploring all corners of electronic music and consistently pushing boundaries at every turn.

Anyone who has spent time on the dancefloor during one of his infamous “Open to Close” sets, has witnessed his versatility behind the decks. With a taste that refuses to be confined to a single genre, his passion for the music is clear to see in every selection.

The addictive “DUNNN” EP already features both tracks on Skream’s recent Essential Mix, and kicks off the title track in a playful mood, before a driving synth and heavy kick drum creep in, for a full assault on the senses. The groove soon takes hold and forever pushes things forward, while an infectious vocal appears at all the right moments, reverberating through time an space, creating those heads down hands up moments.

Second track “Tramadollied” shows off a darker, more intense side. Thriving kicks are joined by an eerie melody of disorientating bleeps and keys, that lure you into an almost trance like state, full of moody atmosphere and groove.
