I'll Get Up Early

I've never had any trouble writing tracks, and once I've got a line or two to start a song with, I don't really have trouble writing lyrics, either. It's just that first line that gives me trouble. So what I've been doing lately is getting a sound, then just hitting up a friend and saying "Hey, give me one line for a [insert song style here]" and then just taking what they give me and riffing on it for a few verses.

I've also taken to heart the Bill Wurtz adage that "the key to creativity is realizing you can do [giraffe] absolutely anything you want at [italian chef clipart] any time." If you've written your piece and don't have anything else to say, you can just leave it there. And if that leaves 'em wanting more, then maybe they'll try listening to more of your music to get it, and that's even better.
