Love the new profile cover art!! I've had compliments from local listeners about the awesome banjo in this!! And one of my followers was wondering if you can play bowed string instruments too and if you can he wants to hear a bowed banjo? No lie LMAO.  This song is the brainchild of Artur, who composed it on his guitar perfectly for collaboration, and presented it to us with his vision for the entire sound. Ken went first, of course, adding his signature rocking beat to the song. Josh went next, as soon as Ken had laid down the drums, adding his four string fretless bass sound to fill out the rhythm section. 
  Tez came along soon after, adding some foundational ornamentation with his guitar. JJ jumped in right after Tez, and laid in the majestic organ, riffing electric piano, and subtle synth you hear throughout. Finally, Stephen laid his guitar in there, too, which can be heard as a fiery melodic line running throughout. At Artur's suggestion, he also added some amazing, trippy sitar in a couple of spots, too.
  Once all the tracks were laid down, Stephen came through with his always skillful mix. This makes almost an album worth of material that The Eclectic Collective has created from Artur's ideas. We're always excited when he drops a new one in our laps. He wrote this on a sweet rainy day in the Polish summer.

Composition – The Eclectic Collective

This song began its life as a hauntingly exquisite guitar chord progression that Tez came up with and shared with the rest of us. He also stacked a couple of other guitar tracks in there for good measure. 

Ken was first up, adding his drums, then later his pots and pans percussion. As he was doing that, Josh was coming up with his bass line, and they did their little dance of back and forth until the rhythm section was set. 

Mark came in around the same time, though, and added his unique, Waitsian vocals with the lyrics that he wrote for it, too. He also added some really amazing organ parts, a toy piano which you can hear right after the banjo solo, and percussion that add a solid foundation for his voice and add magic throughout the song. 

Stephen followed shortly after with the big stroke guitar chords, and also came up with the amazing banjo solo you hear in there, too. Last, but not least, JJ came in with his organ and electric piano to seal the deal with the melodies and ambience. Then he and Mark added the cool sound effects you hear throughout, too.

  Every great song needs a great producer, and Mark filled the duty on this one. He has proved himself to be a masterful editor, producer, and mixer, and we are lucky to have him as part of the team.

  This one is an homage to Tom Waits in a deliberate way. We're all big fans, and tried to do something in his unique style. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Sundrops and Rainshine

A simple, catchy song, musically inconsequential, but with some self-pitying and self-indulgent intent. It seems unbelievable, but I had "Bright Eyes", Art Garfunkel's 1977 hit, in mind. Obviously, I have to mention the song by my admired John Watts, for his legendary group Fischer-Z, "Lies", from his album Word Salad, because of its coincidental chorus. It's something that was also on my mind.

Really wanted to have a strong emotional guitar, so I a found a couple chords I liked and did some finger picking trying to emphasize the base note. I listened over and over once I had got the sound out of the guitar I wanted and tried to fit lyrics in that would give it a unique and relaxing sound. Hope you enjoy!

So... this is a story about a lonely puppeteer named Pietro who has spent his whole life dedicated to his craft... and yet he yearns for a companion... someone to share life that he has left to live. And so Pietro decides to  one day create himself a maiden...  As he is working away in his shop, he dreams of his creation coming to life and the times they will share... while contemplating his life thus far..
