Style
Using old musical equipment and effects in rather disgraceful and disturbing ways Deep house is a style of house music. It is loosely defined by the following characteristics that distinguish it from most other forms of house music: relatively slow tempo (110–125 bpm); de-emphasized percussion, including: simpler drum machine programming; gentle transitions and fewer "build-ups"; less "thumpy" bass drum sound; less pronounced hi-hats on the off-beat; sustained chords or other tonal elements that span multiple bars; increased use of reverb, delay, and filter effects; a featured solo R&B vocalist, often male, exhibiting soul, jazz, and/or gospel influences; jazz influences or samples in the instrumentation. Not all of these need to be present or fully satisfied in order for house music to be called "deep house"; fans of the style typically just identify it by its subjective "feel" rather than by the presence or absence of specific elements. The term "deep house" first appeared in the music press in the late 1980s, usually in reference to the music of Larry Heard. 
 Music sends out a vibration and that is something I take to my heart. Now I see I spent so much time trying to question and critique the outside world and now I've been forced to look at myself. But there's a great Hendrix lyric: I used to live in a room full of mirrors, all I could see was me. I take my spirit and I smash all the mirrors now the whole world is here for me to see, now I'm searching for my love to be. Broken glass was all in my brain, cats were screaming crying in my head. It used to fall out dreams and cut me in my bed, I say making love was strange in my bed... I have been blessed to know and feel love both earthly and spiritual and I hope I am to become better with the responsibility of loving another. I have fallen short so often in my friendships, relationships and family. And while the world spins around and stars are born and die the oceans flow and the sun rises and sets now I'm clear about what it is I'm striving for. And through love I hope to rise above the suffering that is a part of life and be more gracious to others and pray for forgiveness for the past deeds that have caused others suffering. And the music that I'm making now is just the love I've felt and the energy I'm surrounding myself with. Thoughts are the architecture of the mind. And I'm trying to fill my mind with tranquility so that I may emanate that vibration... inshallah I love and cherish the gift that the creator has given me."
