Naturally, humans categorize everything in order to make things  accessible. Most things fit into nice neat conventions, not only to organize and generalize things, but also to add to the greater social knowledge. However, this categorization of everything has a downside as well. Stereotyping in the process of trying to understand different topics can lead to miscategorization or overgeneralization.
