Being the home base of AKA AKA & Thalstroem, Burlesque Musique has established itself as a creative platform introducing talented newcomers like umami or Joachim Pastor since more than six years now. Without any boundaries in mind and heart, they’re not just looking for catchy melodies or the next dance floor hymn, the Berlin label still keeping its eyes open for strong characters.
The two Mannheim-based artists Ohmyboy & Wöllstein might fit into the latter category, but calling them newcomers would be slightly out of place. Especially because Ohmyboy is just another project of 28-year-old multi-talent Niels Reinhard, who received numerous prizes for his work as a motion graphic designer and cutter, doing both shooting short movies as well as producing dance tracks between synth-pop, electro and techno. With the singer Wöllstein, he already teamed up in some of his previous works, but it’s their first appearance as Ohmyboy & Wöllstein. „Fuck Privacy“ is a remarkable statement that addresses the tension between transparency and privacy. Where’s the line between security and private life, who’s authentic within social media and what does love got do with it? The duo evokes several questions while the minimal tech-house gem is unfolding its infectious groove with a prancing bass line and Wöllstein’s insistent voice. „Fuck Privacy“ is somehow both: subtle sarcasm as well as an emphatic warning. This kind of thoughtful hedonism is pretty rare and really impressive! With their remix, label mates umami are following a way more stringent path, but away from the rattling claps, it’s the robot-like vocal shreds with which the Berlin duo is also commenting on today’s digital age.

Berliner Thomas Lizzara joins Kuukou with his Right Direction EP, featuring two original tracks and a remix by Spanish producer German Brigante.
At the heart of the energetic title track Right Direction lies an arpeggiated synth loop that constantly shifts shapes, bouncing off the syncopated percussion. German Brigante’s remix instills tension with ominous pads and a stripped down bassline, all centered around its initial vocal sequence. 
Start running evokes a more emotive dynamic, with a meandering bassline on a backdrop of fiendish vocal loops and spiralling synths, finishing off the release on a lively note.

Après une tournée à succès avec ses Mojos l’année dernière, Asaf Avidan annonce une « pause créative illimitée ».

L’attente en valait manifestement la peine.

Sur ce premier EP, prélude d’un nouvel album à paraître début 2013 chez Polydor, Asaf Avidan  pousse encore plus loin son songwriting  et l’immisce  naturellement dans de nouvelles sonorités  où folk et electronica offrent un écrin inédit à sa voix hors du commun.

En plus de 2 nouveaux titres, on découvrira également deux lectures de « Different Pulses », son 1er single à travers les remixes de Joris Delacroix, membre du collectif sudiste WOH Lab  et du duo JBNV (aka Nicolas Villebrun de Pony Hoax et Jacques Bon).

Der ausgebildete Jazztrompeter und Blaswandler, sowie Komponist und Produzent Thalstroem ist zur Zeit vorwiegend mit AKA AKA, sowie in unregelmäßigen Abständen mit LAN und in Kombination mit Grambow unterwegs. 

Thalstroem ist seit Ende der 1990er Jahre als Berufsmusiker tätig. Während seines Musikstudiums in München und Amsterdam (2000-2005) wirkte er u.a. an Großproduktionen wie „A Tribute to Diversity“ mit. Er bewegte sich zu Beginn noch vorwiegend in der Jazzszene, es dauerte jedoch nicht lange, bis auch sein Interesse für elektronische Produktionen geweckt war. 

Thalstroem lebt und arbeitet seit 2005 in Berlin, wo er zunächst wesentlicher Bestandteil des LAN-Kollektivs war.

Seit seinem ersten gemeinsamen Auftritt im März 2010 mit Hannes und Holger, ist Thalstroem regelmäßiges Mitglied des Live Sets von AKA AKA. Schon bei der Vorbereitung auf ihren ersten Gig zeichnete sich eine gute musikalische Zusammenarbeit ab; erste gemeinsame Produktionen sind bereits fertig gestellt, viele weitere derzeit in Arbeit. Auf ihr erstes Konzert im Watergate (Berlin) folgten zahlreiche erfolgreiche Abende in verschiedenen Clubs verteilt über ganz Deutschland, z.B. im Tresor (Berlin), in der Arena (Berlin), der Roten Sonne (München), dem Rote Sonne Openair (München), der Winterworld 2011 (Wiesbaden) u.v.m... Zahlreiche weitere Gigs für 2011 sind ebenfalls bereits bestätigt, darunter neben Berlin auch Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Rosenheim, Köln, Flensburg, Erfurt, und viele weitere Städte.

Den Grundstein für die Kooperation mit dem Pianisten, Komponisten und Produzenten Grambow legten die beiden schon während ihrer Studienzeit in Amsterdam. Gemeinsam traten sie u.a. mit dem DJ Kollektiv „WickedJazzSounds“ auf und leisteten ihren Beitrag zu diversen Veröffentlichungen und Produktionen im Jazz-Bereich; in erster Linie verband sie jedoch ihre immer größer werdende Leidenschaft für elektronische Musik und deren Möglichkeiten. So beschlossen sie, nach Beendigung ihres Studiums im Jahr 2005 nach Berlin zu ziehen, wo sie gemeinsam mit einer Reihe weiterer Musiker LAN gründeten, eine Formation, die es sich zum Ziel setzte, elektronische Musik live zu performen. Im Gegensatz zu Grambow ist Thalstroem heute zwar kein festes Mitglied mehr von LAN, bei Studioproduktionen sowie live (z.B. auf der Fusion 2010) wirkt er in unregelmäßigen Abständen jedoch weiterhin mit.
