Capitalk 100.4FM Interview

Numbers mean a lot to me. Today is 01-23-23 or if you’re a US mf, 23-01-23 (which is more aesthetically pleasing to me). So naturally a song must be released!!! Twenty three has always meant a lot to me in THIS LIFE. And now we are in her year ~~ twenty-twenty-three. I’m also turning 28 in 7 days…. Oooof.

Here is the first song off my project, “A Tale for the Time Being” which is my first self-produced project, “BLOOD.”

BLOOD

Today, Jan 30, 2023, I turn 28 and tbh, at this present moment, I'm not doing great mental health-wise. So voila: an offering/ an experimental piece of music written and recorded by myself and two of my favourite creatives in the world, my younger brother (and other half of SEAZN), KOSI and Ulenni Okandlovu (of Skeyi & Strobo, Bantu Spaceship and so much more).

This is a single off of my upcoming EP, "A Tale for the Time Being."

It's a really weird time. It's confusing and scary. Uncertainty is the only certain fact of life right now. I oscillate between feeling super creative and crippled by anxiety. It's corny, but it's true, music is my saving grace. My soul has been craving Tracy Chapman's hopeful yet haunting work and I felt compelled to arrange and record a cover of "I'm Ready."

This moment is a reminder to connect deeply: to ourselves, to the earth, to those who surround us (virtual counts!), so please reach out if you want to chat, cry, sing or just goofy dance with me.
