This tune was my first project for PAT 201 at U of M, fall 2009. For this track we were only allowed to use patches we programmed from the Korg Triton. I was having a difficult time finding sounds that I thought sounded natural, so I decided to exploit the inorganic qualities of the synth and explored from there.

This was the second of four projects fro PAT 201, winter 2009. On this track we were allowed to use patches and effects from Logic Pro, as well as the Triton. I had been listening and analyzing to a lot of Beethoven at the time, so this piece was a huge exercise in developing ideas.

The third project for PAT 201, fall 2009. In this song we were finally allowed to use live recorded sounds! Most of what's on this are samples from me walking around and interviewing my friends. This is the most "out" of all the tunes, I think.

The final project for PAT 201. This song is a love story. One of the saddest ever told. The vocoded voice is a ruthless, heartless robot from outer-space sent to Earth to destroy it. After a certain amount of destruction he stumbles upon a Tomagachi (those digital pet from the 90's), falls in love with it, and is overcome with remorse upon learning what love is. The lyrics are a bit hard to hear, so here's a transcribed version:

I am a robot,
Sent to destroy.

To destroy planet Earth,
And eradicate LOVE from existence.
Preparing for impact in,
THREE, TWO ONE.

Citizens: Remain Calm,
Please line up in an orderly fashion for your execution.
