Formed in May, 2024, Geschwätz GmbH (Austria/Germany/Denmark) champions a musical movement they call "Zeitnah Schlager" (Contemporary Schlager). Geschwätz GmbH came together when aspiring DJ and producer, Petra Joy Fischer, met her soul mate, Austrian trumpetist, arranger, singer, and rapper, Peter Roland Kuhn, on a platform at Hamburg-Altona Bahnhof en route to the warm-up party for the 2024 Schlagermove festival in Hamburg. Fischer had been feeling uninspired and frustrated trying to break into Hamburg's saturated DJ and electronic music scene, and decided to abandon city life for her new-found love and the mountanous beauty of rural Austria. Already by early June she had packed down her vinyl collection and home studio and re-located permanently to Kuhn's remote home town, the mountain-locked village of Brandt. There the inseparable, reclusive couple began pumping out a wide selection of tracks, employing the services of Kuhn's own talented home-town brass schlager band (Die Einheimischen). The resulting musical constellation melds some of the pair's favorite styles: Glitch Hop & Electronica, Hip Hop, Trip-Hop, Rap, Ska, Reggae, 1930's & '40's Jazz & Swing, Polka, Analogue & Digital Turntablism, and Party-/Pop-/Folk- Schlager.

Ustad Rama Cheugy is both a violinist and composer of the Classical Hindustani tradition and an experimental electronic producer. As a son of one of India's oldest musical families, Cheugy was expected to continue the family's strictly traditional Classical persuits. Instead he chose to attend KM Music Conservatory in his home city of Mumbai to supplement his foundational Classical training with an education in Western music and music technology and production. Incensed by the young man's decision, his family litigated to prevent him using the family name lest the scourge of electronic music bring furthur shame upon them. He owned his family's vocal and spiteful criticisms by adopting the name "Cheugy", meaning someone who reaches beyond his abilities in order to impress others, but ends up making a fool of himself; also "the opposite of trendy", or "trying too hard with the trends". At KMMC, Cheugy has established CHID with a selection of his classmates, incorporating an electric string quintet (each instrument MIDI-mapped), vocals, tablas, percussion, V-Drums, and a tower of processing and sequencing equipment. An anacronym for the Classical Hindustani Industrial Dubstep that the band produces, CHID (छिद्) is also a sanskrit word, meaning cut off, amputate, chop, split, destroy, annihilate - an appropriate name, considering the assault on the senses that is their music.

CHID makes no attempt to please anyone but themselves. If their punk/metal/industrial/jackhammer aesthetic is pleasing to you, then enjoy! If not, then go in peace.

Hailing from the pre-digital era, David is a self-taught woodwind player whose formative years involved tape manipulation and other analogue devices. After playing in bands for many years, his most recent aural adventure is the digital audio workstation.
