Soup was the chief music provider for local break dancers (The Energy Wizards) because he couldn't hold up his own body weight . It was during his third year at High school he began fiddling with overdubbing on two tape decks and scratching on his Dad's stereo. Soup learnt about the dazzling new music form hip-hop and began developing production skills on crude sampling equipment in luxurious 8 bit, his computer had an amazing 2 megabytes of memory. He began digging for samples and was mostly enthralled by Rhythm and Blues, Soul, early electronic music and spoken word records.

Yum Yum comprise of beatmaker Jayo James and vocalist Natalie Slade. Their sound has been described as quality intelligent groove music exploring funk, reggae, dub, hip hop and soul rhythms.

DJ Paul Goodyear has been a DJ for over 30 years. His beloved record collection has moved with him through 4 different continents and having played all over the world including China, UK, Australia, Amsterdam, Singapore, KL, Spain and throughout America.

In the recording studio Paul has worked with and on some great artists in dance. Artists include Lonnie Gordon, Kristine W Carol Jiani, Angie Brown, Paul Parker, Peyton, Linda Clifford, Mary Kiani and many others.
His editing skills hark back to the days of Reel to Reel tapes, with over 250 edits appearing on remix labels such as Hot Tracks, Direct Hit, Discotech, Rhythm Stick, Euro Trax, Ultimix and his own remix label Ace DJ Remix Service.

A legendary DJ in the Australian scene since the 1980s, Paul recently relocated to San Francisco, where he has been keeping a busy schedule as a club DJ and re-editor and remixer (check out his website). 

 We got in touch a few months ago to ask if he'd be interested in contributing for Volume 3, and we are blown away by what he has turned in. Pure hedonistic boogie disco vibes right through. Get on board this killer rework from one of the best.

Sard Boogie started out as an Mc under the name "Sard" in the early 90's Producing and performing many live show's with ru C.L, Rema, Ill Kane, Dj Fx, Dj Excel and International act"Mystik Journeymen". From 1993-1996 a member of the Melbourne Based crew"Ruffnexet" , including interstate show's, an appearance on ABC tv, Numerous Live performances on Melbourne radio shows "Steppin 2 tha am" "Tha Formula" and the roof tearing show @ the renowned Hip hop reggae venue "Big Bamboo" in 1995. Performing as a solo artist playing live show's at Revolver, The Croft, 303 and Honky Tonk's to Name a few, also as a resident Dj at "Suede" and"White Rabbit" with "Fabric Soul's" Playing Funk, Rare groove, Break's, Hip hop and whatever else floats his boat. Sard Boogie has a strong Hip hop background but this dose not stop him from freakin the funk in other genres, whether it's in his sets or with his own production.

For much of the past two decades,  Paris Pompor has been eeking out a living as a freelance music journo, whilst also running the Groovescoooter label. The label began as a radio show on Sydney's Eastside FM back in 1997 (continuing to this day) and in betwixt, Paris has also presented shows on SBS (Alchemy) and FBi (The Album Show). In between regular DJ gigs around town, and hosting his excellent weekly radio show "Jumping the Gap" on Sydney's 2ser, he found time to get busy in the studio for us. Meem (Michael Moebus) is a respected and prolific music producer, DJ and radio host - whose inimitable style of funk, disco, soul & electro-boogie has kept dancefloors shaking for almost 15 years.

In the late 90’s Meem began performing live at underground dance parties in Canberra (illegal forest parties, art galleries and aquariums) and soon catapulted from a shy art-school raver to a highly sought after live electronic act – performing at The Big Day Out, Sydney Festival, Peats Ridge Festival, Triple J Groove Train, Parklife, and Field Day. Meem has supported internation heavyweights such as Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, and Jamie Lidell, and he has showcased his live and DJ performances in London, Manchester, island beach parties in Croatia, and summer festivals throughout Eastern Europe.

As a sought after DJ, Meem has supported international acts including Thievery Corporation, and Tom Findlay (Groove Armada). Bringing a diverse and expansive music collection to each gig, Meem blends a broad range of styles and genres including funk, disco, hip-hop, afrobeat, dancehall, reggae, dub, latin, jazz, gypsy, electrobeat, jump blues and boogie.

As a weekly testament to his love of funk music (and all its related styles), Meem also hosts the long-running and much-loved radio program Back to Funk, broadcasting every Monday afternoon on 2SER 107.3FM.

Meem has also achieved design notoriety by releasing almost every release in limited edition, and often handmade, packaging. Destined to become collector’s items, covers have been crafted from wood, cotton, felt and vinyl upholstery. Meem’s CD design has been featured in the UK publication ‘CD - Art: Innovation in CD Packaging Design’ by Charlotte Rivers, alongside cover art for The Pet Shop Boys and design by Andy Warhol.
