Brazilian MCs Amanda Sarmento, Clara Ribeiro, & Maui hang out at DJ ANTCONSTANTINO's Duque de Caxias crib and pass the mic around for a kaleidoscopic 30 minute cypher, where romantic crooning morphs into microphone-igniting bars and back again. Soundtracked by ANTCONSTANTINO, shifting through lush R&B instrumentals, shuffling UK dance music, Favela funk, global grime sounds, MBP... 

This emerging crop of MCs in Rio are reacting to the harder edged sounds of mega-popular Brazilian trap and funk music, creating music that interpolates the styles via the global melting pot of pop & R&B, and Brazilian sounds of the past - Clara Ribeiro says "whenever I talk about references, I talk about my father. About 
how much we listen to Brazilian popular music [MPB] at home, especially samba".

Megatron started as a soundsystem wall (paredão de som) in the periphery of São Paulo. 4x3m of speakers and strong lights made the this one of the most well-known soundsystems.
Fastly, the heavy bass of funk was felt on Megatron speakers, mixed with the very machinery sounds. São Paulo's new generation funk mcs took over the name and called it Megatron

XXIII // MEGATRON brings together european and brazillian artists and their approach to Megatron.
