He took us on the journey of a once in a life time family gathering held in South Africa for his Grandmas funeral. Inoke Tuhukava, a first timer on the storytelling stage was up next and told of the challenges and fear growing up in a a one parent household and how his fathers abilities in the ocean rubbed off on him and led him to have the courage to overcome the fear of nearly drowning in the Cronulla surf.

Bob Mitchell, the shires own Memory Man was next and really brought something different to the stage with three short stories about his time working with the elderly in nursing homes. One about getting one elderly lady really angry to the point she gave him a good punch in the face, another about a boy shot at the local swimming pool and the other…you will just have to listen to find out.

The Art of Storytelling is a new entrant to the live storytelling community in Sydney. We are driven by the desire to bring live storytelling out of the inner city and to the suburbs so that all can participate enjoy and share in the many amazing, humorous, sad, strange and true life tales of our neighbours and city.

Our inaugural live storytelling show ‘Southside Stories’  was held in in October 2012 and at the Brass Monkey in Cronulla. We aim to hold events every few months in the South, so 'Like' the facebook page to be informed of upcoming events.
