Being a DJ for close to 13 years is hard work. Pure determination and will is the only thing that kept George Daniel going… that, and buckets of tequila. George started out in the humble town of Bloemfontein, in the Free State, SA. Needless to say this town is flooded with your typical “plaas boere” and there’s a handful of eager kids that don’t want to farm with cows, so he researched, researched and researched some more and George finally found his niche: breaks. His absolute love for breakbeats grew so much that he hosted a radio show on KovsieFM and had a residency at Die Mystic Boer showcasing all the latest breaks, funk, dub and drum 'n' bass. It was well loved by the public and when he reched the glass ceiling in Bloemfontein (playing every venue, white and black) George moved to Cape Town to spread his wings. Four years in Cape Town has molded this DJ into what he truly is, a breaks-and-bass provider!

Discotheque Mix 024 - Tommy Gun

H.I.T.S. (Heavy In The Streets) are a Hamburg, Germany based DJ team. Three established Hip-Hop DJs who discovered they had an unknown love for electro, they now play regularly at Baalsaal and Neidklub - two of Hamburg's finest clubs - where they've mixed alongside such illustrious guest DJs as Steve Aoki, D.I.M., Fukkk Offf, Saint Pauli, Boys Noize, Busy P and Soulwax. While still unsigned, the trio is working on their debut EP, expected to be released in 2011.

The Assembly - Cape Town's Live Music & Entertainment Venue


Discotheque, hosted every Friday at The Assembly, is become recognized as Cape Town's first choice Friday night event.

With a simple ethos of 'If its got beat and you can dance to it, we'll be playing it', Discotheque has in its short lifetime hosted an array of top local, national and international talent, and continues to set the standard and raise the bar, on a weekly basis.
