'Satellites Cry' is the music imagined for a segment of
the 1967 'Our World' broadcast, the first live international
TV programme bounced around the world by satellite.
Using only sounds from the Oramics Machine samples
we've tried to give voices to those satellites, calling to
each other across the vast void of space, and to us back
on Earth, on Our World.

"...The results are in and after adding up the scores it turned out we had a ‘photo finish’ on our hands. Unfortunately you didn’t win, but we would like to give Satellites Cry a special mention, because it still had an impressive overall score and everybody really liked the idea of two “satellites crying to each other across the void of space,” to put it in the words of our judge at the Wire. 

Brian Eno said:”Has a strong mood, and the sort of mysteriousness that Daphne liked.” 

DJ Spooky thought it was a “beautiful ambient piece.”

Globot's Dream

Parts 1 & 2 of 'Sagittarius' (it was going to be 'Satsuma' but I changed my mind when I heard how it was going).  These then segue straight into #3, which is 'Station Crystal 23', already made public a few weeks ago.

#6 The Warmth Of A Thousand Suns In Our Hearts... fades in sympathetically from the glass armonica of 'Globot's Dream', and segues into 'Supermassive Black Hole'.

Fades in from 'The Warmth Of A Thousand Suns In Our Hearts" pretty seamlessly.  A lazy beginning, but increases tempo quite a lot through the track until it's fair battering along.  This is the penultimate 'Sagittarius' track, leading into 'Event Horizon'.  (Yeah, bet you didn't see THAT title coming, eh?)

No long pretentious 'artistic statement' or any other Hoxtonian guff-bubbles here.

It's quite simple; we like lots of (often very different) music that we wish we could have written, so here are some of our attempts.  If you find you like some of them or notice you're humming one later on, great, that makes it all worthwhile.

As for the lack of names to credit or blame here, it's not meant to be mysterious - it's just not all that important.
