I’m a french bass player from Quebec. I compose music with three four-string bass tuned in B, A and E2. I recorded my ideas on a 6 tracks Looper, that’s my main tool to create music. Please note that I have no formal musical education, I just play by ear. My music is Inspired by the progressive and alternative rock era bands. Lyrics are from the original bands and done in the style and fashion of these groups. I recently wrote lyrics with the help of artificial Intelligence. These loops are indentified with AI in the title. My creative process is particular. There's no more than 6 hours between the first looping and jamming and the released mix on Soundcloud. My music is always jambase and improvised. I play 4-string bass with SansAmp Tech21 preamps and Hugues and Kettner Ampman. The beats are made with Roland Electronic Drum's. There are no guitar, no Fender's involved in my music, only bass. The Electro Harmonix 9500 performance loop laboratory is my preferred choice to compose and arrange my music with three Ibanez 4-string, Music Man style model 300 and 800. 5- Record the V-Drum track 3 & 4
6- Record vocals track 5 to 8 (find lyrics in the good metrics)
7- Convert vocal tracks with kits.ai
9- Import the tracks in Logic X
9- Build the mix
10- Add keyboards
11- Add sound effects
12- Final mix and mastering
13- Output and upload to Soundcloud

Tout ça avec 3 basses (B,A,E2), un V-Drum, un Looper, quelques effets, des « soft synth » et le désir de créer quelque chose d’unique juste pour le plaisir! Non, il n’y a pas de guitare excepté sur les supers collaborations avec Pierre Bouthillier.

Plus de prog, de rock alternatif, de métal?Sûrement plus de collaborations en tout cas, des nouveaux  preampsTech21, une attention plus particulière à la voix. Plus de vidéos des pièces les plus épiques! Le tout en gardant le Looper EHX au centre de mon processus créatif comme instrument de composition et la contrainte de 3 heures pour réaliser une pièce à partir de la première loop enregistrée et 2 heures pour le mixage et la mise en ligne.

 Marty Cooper is a storyteller of America, truly America's hidden balladeer. He has written number one hits, as well as songs covered by such luminaries as Stevie Wonder, Rod McKuen, Jimmie Rodgers, Sammy Davis, Jr., The Kingston Trio, The Brothers Four, Burl Ives, Bobby Bare, The Irish Rovers, and Jennifer Warnes. In a career extending back to the late 1950s and as an important voice of the 60s folk revival, Marty's worked with such LA studio legends as The Wrecking Crew and Jack Nitzsche. And yet, he remains largely undiscovered by the public at large.

This collection consists mainly of Marty doing Marty – singing songs previously covered and made famous by other artists, like Donna Fargo's “You Can't Be a Beacon (If Your Light Don't Shine)”, which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Country Top 100, and “A Little Bit Country, a Little Bit Rock 'n Roll”, the ubiquitous theme song of Donny and Marie Osmond, heard here with the original non-sibling lyrics. And there's protest songs censored by “the powers that be” back in the 60's, like “One More Time, Billy Brown” (originally sung by Burl Ives), because the message was deemed too inflammatory. 

But beyond all that, there is a portrait here painted with love and care of an America that we have largely lost – painted with the hope that perhaps we can find it, or some parts of it, again.
