Ten years ago, Lassi Vierimaa, then known as Scape released a single ’Be My Friend’, which became an instant hit on the house music scene. ”Be My Friend” and remixes by Seamus Haji, Michael Grey and Ian Carey appeared on numerous compilations for Hed Kandi, Sony BMG, Ministry of Sound, MN2S, DMC, Azuli, Mixmash and more.

Now ten years later, Lassi is finally making a comeback under the new ’Disco Despair’ moniker on Youth Control. Disco Despair’s first EP titled I’m No Good is an impeccable 5 track nu-disco EP that underlines his years of experience on the electronic music scene.

The title track ‘ I’m No Good (Feat. Her Favorite Flavor)’ kicks things off with an electro pop / nu-disco vibe, utilising Her Favorite Flavor’s catchy vocals to the full. The EP continues with the slightly more club oriented cut ’Freak With me’, and finally the third original track on the EP ’Let You In My Heart’ is a more progressive nu-disco track with huge synth chords and a funky bass line. On remix duties we have Roisto, still recovering from the massive hype which surrounded his debut EP ’Apart In Love’ released on Youth Control in January, and a new talent 5/5 who blends everything from UK grime to euro-dance, fearlessly and with no limits (pun intended).

Blake Robin aka LUXXURY aka Baron von Luxxury has been making waves in the DJ/producer disco community over the past two years with his controversial edits. He was personally selected by Duran Duran's bassist and co-founder John Taylor to cover "Planet Earth". His "Hotel California" edit was a runaway smash, instantly attracting nearly 300,000+ Soundcloud listens and a great deal of press including a front page piece with the Wall Street Journal. “Hotel California” was later taken down everywhere due to a major internet kerfuffle, which served only to boost Luxxury's profile and add to his mystique. He received immediate support from Greg Wilson, Psychemagik, Ursula 1000, Junior Sanchez, Goldroom and hundreds more.

Today, LUXXURY shares his new single “Take It Slow” which is available now and will be released as part of the Hold On / Take It Slow single package on March 4 via Deep&Disco. The new songs are heavily steeped in classic West Coast sunshine and vintage disco vibes. Along with keyboardist/collaborator Billy Caruso (Laco$te, Corridor) the new Luxxury sound doubles down on '78 California: all shimmering Rhodes, dusty anti-EDM disco beats and funky bass lines peppered with blue eyed falsetto vocals provided by Robin himself.

Satin Jackets’ gorgeous electronic pop song ‘Feel Good’ gets a single release, backed by remixes from the likes of  Cavego, Keljet and In Limbo.

‘Feel Good’ is a reimagination of the duo’s hit track ‘You Make Me Feel Good’ and features LA four-piece Scavenger Hunt on vocals. It retains all of the gloriously bowled over sentiment of the original but with some of the extra polish Satin Jackets have picked up since that track was originally released. Jill Lamoureux (Scavenger Hunt) says of their new vocal contribution: “We instantly connected with ‘Feel Good’ and wanted to breathe new life into this brilliant track, by giving it a voice, a narrative. ‘Feel Good’ feels like jumping into a cool pool on a hot summer day - refreshing, exhilarating and sexy.” 

Delivering the first remix is Norwegian Cavego (aka Even Gillebo). Seen as a champion of the nu disco sound, he has conjured up a glossier, more funky version of an already smooth disco gem. At the forefront of Dutch indie dance is Keljet. Their remix adds an extra layer of sparkle for optimum dancefloor effectiveness. Finally, In Limbo slows things down by creating an appropriately mysterious and enchanting remix.

‘Feel Good’ is taken from the much-lauded Satin Jackets debut album ‘Panorama Pacifico’. In their 8/10 review, Mixmag perfectly described it as “a collection of love songs perfect for the dancefloor, lounging around the poolside, or both”.

Satin Jackets Feat. Scavenger Hunt - Feel Good (Cavego Remix)

Do you remember the ever amazing Rick Astley? Have you played the boys of Wham! over and over again? You are child of the 80’s and desperately want to relive and revive that glorious era?
We got something for you: Le Flex, the multi-talented producer out of London with a knack for quality synths, is back for good and takes you on a trip back in time with his latest joint called “Feels Like Ooh”.

It indeed feels like Ooh and wow once you played it on your stereo walking down Venice Beach while roller-skate girls passing by, waving hands and the dudes pumping iron on the other side. 
“Feels Like Ooh” comes with a pair of remixes crafted by Ben Macklin and B1Z B1Z and gets you in the mood to spend the night in a warehouse-club over in Culver City.  

Rounding up the whole picture are even two more tracks on the release, which really catch on that classic retro vibe. “Take A Moment” is a smooth & sex take-over by the charming Brit, whose silky voice is wandering along the chords and gets you goose bumps all the way down to your toes, while Medsound’s remix of the mentioned song is even doubling up to that and is the musical proof that the 80’s never faded.
