Born from the forge of northwest Fresno, The Black Astronaut (Ryan Sloan, Brook Wallace and Troy May) were an improvisational trio who recorded 8 albums from 1985 to 1989. Hailed as one of the most unheard of bands ever, TBA went on to later change their name to Chaff Bakery, recording 6 more albums under that name. Sloan and Wallace later went on to form the band Sticky Buckle with percussionist David Brown. Their duo, PILZ, produced 12 albums and 6 singles, all following in the improvisational stylings of TBA, Chaff Bakery, and Sticky Buckle. Sloan later went on to form the group BURNING PERSON with guitarist Curt Hausemann and bassist Mark Wahlburgh(sic). The music is best described while on psychoactive substances, and can only be found in the homes of a handful of chosen caretakers...
