She drawn towards deep sounds which elicit a variety of emotions. Experiences she has personally whilst listening to electronic music whether this be alone or on a dancefloor -
Because of these experiences, she's a strong believer in electronic and dance music being a tool for meditation, growth and healing. The mystic and hypnotic sounds of electronic music feels closest to her, and she want to promote how powerful it can be. 
These mixes will range from ambient, to dub and hypnotic techno, incorporating sounds of DnB, acid and elements of industrial techno, and more..

Huge mix this month, we have a full hour from multifaceted artist, producer, and DJ Ireen Amnes!

Based in Berlin, she started her musical journey as a singer and instrumentalist in metal bands before transitioning into electronic music. Her sound, characterized by moody, unpredictable live hardware and DJ sets, merges melancholic atmospheres with deconstructed rhythms and distorted aesthetics.

Since 2015 she’s ran Under My Feet. A London-based collective and label that has become a hub for provocative exhibitions and showcases blending power electronics with experimental sounds.

Those eagle-eyed fans will remember she delivered an excellent remix for us back in 2018 as well!

For our 99th edition, we’re honoured to host Belgian producer Owl, whose meditative mix feels like a balm for overstimulated minds. Known for his collaborations as Glÿph (with Clearlight) and OZOH, Owl has been crafting deep sonic journeys since 2013 - seamlessly blending ambient, autonomic, and deep techno into a sound that’s as introspective as it is expansive.

With releases on some of our favorite labels like Silent Season, re:st, Lowless, and Huinali, Owl is a master of subtle textures and emotions. His mix for Unrush gently guides you through beautiful soundscapes and soothing atmospheres - the perfect companion to unwind, reset, and breathe a little deeper. It might just become your best friend in stressful times.

We’re taking a short summer break and will return in September with our 100th mix. Until then, let Owl’s sound world carry you through the quieter moments...

099 - Unrushed by OWL

Today's guest mix arrives as the perfect soundtrack to these scorching summer days that seem to stretch on endlessly, capturing the vibrant energy and laid-back vibe of the season. We welcome Vakula, a leading figure in the Ukrainian electronic music scene.

The journey began in 1998, behind the decks of a local radio station, where Vakula played drum & bass and trip-hop sets for a handful of night listeners. By 2004, he was already diving into the deep waters of dub techno, drawn not by fashion, but by a persistent inner frequency.
Soon after, Vakula moved to the capital — a city now at war — where he spent eleven formative years. The original plan was simple: earn enough money to reach a Buddhist monastery in Tibet. But life, borders, and timing had other ideas. Instead, he stayed and followed sound.
Over the years, Vakula became part of the underground scene, eventually becoming a resident at iconic clubs such as Propaganda and Zeppelin, while also playing in many of the legendary venues of that era. By 2008, music had turned into a passport, taking him across continents to places where electronic sound truly thrived.
Genre was never a boundary. Jazz, rock, hip-hop, ambient, house, techno, drum & bass — everything served the same purpose: to explore, to feel, to connect. In 2011, he returned to his small hometown and built an analog studio, carving out space to listen more deeply.
Over time, the surface of the global scene began to feel thinner, less sacred. In 2020, he stepped back from performance and immersed himself in a three-year exploration of shamanic practices — not for spectacle, but for personal insight. This inner work changed his relationship with sound, and opened up new levels of depth, stillness, and presence in his music.
By 2025, Vakula let go of the path of the spirits, realizing that some stories are not his to walk. Vakula returned, not to where he started, but to a clearer understanding of his role: to keep listening, to keep creating, and to stay honest in sound.
Through it all, Vakula remains one of the early pioneers and enduring voices in the Ukrainian electronic scene — not the mainstream one, but a world of his own: where forest replaces the city center, where meadows stand in for mindless entertainment, and where trees are steadier than fleeting friendships. His connection to Ukraine has never been about slogans. It’s a quiet, unwavering love — for the land, for the people who still feel, and for his hometown of Konotop, which lives in every frequency he shapes.
