Supernova

Artcore is a weird and confusing genre that when I was tasked to make an artcore track, I was at a loss for what to go for. 

So I kept it simple: Piano, Violin, DnB. Just tell a story.

On the compositional side, I made use of a lot of call-and-response for this one.

for this track it started with me creating that main lead sound, and then the bass and i was like WHOA this sounds so nice.
after some time i came back to it and decided to finish it, and i love how it turned out!
lots of sound design in this one also.

Hai! I am Mister Mustaraddd; I made the art and visuals using Sketchbook Android, Krita, and Davinci Resolve! The hardest part of the art for me is finding something that isn't super cheesy whilst also being cool, but I came to the conclusion that if I don't take it seriously, the work turns out a lot better! (I won't spill my bass sauce… You can't make me… is secret… :3)

This started way back in the fall of 2024, when SkvlKat made an ID and never finished it, so when, by chance, he was looking for a collab with a different artist in January, Mr.Must3rd replied to his request. Skvl mistakenly thought it was a request to do a collab, so then it began. After a LONG time of back and forth, we finally made this dope chune. Hope you like :3

This project started when EvryFlare asked if SkvlKat wanted to collab, so SkvlKat showed EvryFlare some IDs, and one was a clear standout.
We would work on it a bit but it came to a stop when both EveyFlare and SkvlKat had no ideas how to continue it. Several months later, EvryFlare was looking for a project to work on and was reminded of the collab that never happened, and he finished it with new inspiration, and here it is now!!!

SkvlKat & EvryFlare - Emotions

I was invited by SpiralFlip to make a track for Project Phantasia's sequel. As someone who grew up on JRPGs of different eras, I was STOKED for such an opportunity. I pulled out all the tricks I use when composing video game OSTs for this track. 

My main idea was to make a fast-paced mid-boss fight theme. I was at a loss on what specific direction to take it, since there are tons of JRPGs I can pull from.

So I did.

Influences:
- Battle start sting: Final Fantasy, RPGMaker
- Intro: Trails of Cold Steel (Tie a link of ARCUS!)
- Verse: Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists (Soaring Clouds Drifting Haze) + SaGa Frontier 2 (Endverkünder)
- Prechorus: FF8 (Force Your Way) + Explorers of Sky (Time Gear) + FF13 (Saber's Edge)
- Chorus: Xenoblade (Mechanical Rhythm) + Explorers of Sky (Fight to the Finish) + Ys VIII (Crimson Fighter)
- Verse 2: Atelier Shallie (Soaring Clouds Drifting Haze)
- Prechorus 2: Terraria Calamity (Roar of the Jungle Dragon) + FF1 (Prelude) + Chrono Trigger (Main Theme)
- Chorus 2: Same influences as Chorus 1 + Guitar influenced by ToCS (Don't be Defeated by a Friend! Super Arrange)

Even tho Trails/Ys is only mentioned here once, the composition style in general is HEAVILY influenced by the many battle themes of Trails and Ys. Thank you Falcom for making awesome games.

NOTE: Track is loop-ready if you wish to use it in games and videos. BPM is 280, just set loop start at around 0:12 and loop end at around 2:26

This is my submission for Moonboy Project X Contest! I am glad again to participate on a new Moonboy contest! amazing sample pack, amazing sounds and presets! Talking about the song, I have been wondering recently how I can make a song that give me the vibes of my 2010 years old listening to electronic music, the I listened to this vocals on the sample pack and start writing over it! I am really happy with the result and have so fun making this song! so many feelings discovered with this and so far is the happiest song I had ever made in my personal opinion until today! Shot out to everyone doing amazing tracks aswell and thanks again Moonboy for everything!
