As the clock struck 8 p.m. in New York City on the night of October 30, 1938, Orson Welles stood on a podium inside a Madison Avenue radio studio. "The War of the Worlds" Radio Broadcast Created a National Panic. Orson Welles' radio drama is the most famous broadcast in radio history. 

This is not that, but it is my take on H.G. Wells classic novel. Read dramatically and accompanied with music and sounds effects, it should be just as entertaining. The book will be released in single chapter episodes each week.

83 years ago on Oct 30th,  23 year old Orson Welles along with his Mercury Theater company, broadcast his updated version of “The War of the Worlds” by H.G. Wells on live radio! That story threw the nation into chaos then and it continues to do that to this day as it practically paved the way for science fiction. In this episode of Read or Watch, Ken Fay and I discuss the original adaptation of the war of the worlds on radio, then to the silver screen in 1953 and it’s more recent adaptation by Steven Spielberg in 2005!
