Cold Blood

The song is from a dream I had about Worf from Star Trek defending an orphan from drug addict assassins. He then participated in a time travel experiment, using a shuttle with a field of particles without positions in space to collide with its corresponding pair in the future, at high velocity at the periapsis of a highly elliptical orbit , thereby exerting a drag effect and pulling it into the future. Finally Worf turned out to be a shape shifter and united with his people in the great link.

I took this raw material and turned it into a song about a dude recruited from the past by an intergalactic drug cartel to defend its Messianic psychic prophecy child from being assassinated. This "messiah" would grow up to be the most formidable leader, defeating the rival cartels and conquering the galaxy to ultimately sell narcotics to billions of species. The dude ultimately was just a projection of her psyche; in other words her future self created this guy in the past to protect her in the future, and so he was just a dream, which implies we may all be dreams of someone else's psyche!

This song is about three dudes who rob a bank but because they're dumb (they're robbing a bank in the first place!), they get shot down by the police. However do they? Because they may indeed be space pirates and fly to the sanctuary of their space station. Or they may be on drugs in the final battle hallucinating all this, which makes it an ambiguous ending!

A synthwave track with elements of djent in the latter sections. This tune is entirely automated and features Marie Ork on vocals. The Yamaha YM2612 sound chip used in the Megadrive features in addition to the NES and C64 sound chips. There's also a sample from Art of Noise that was used in a very popular mid 90s dance track. 

The song is about the cyclical model of the universe. An alien race (perhaps space orks) investigate a signal in outer space several light years from their home world. They build massive ark ships complete with centrifugal gravity rings and suspended animation chambers to make the journey. When they arrive they encounter a space time structure like something out of Star Trek The Motion Picture, where at the core, they discover a message sent by themselves in a previous iteration of the universe, with instructions on how to create the next one, along with all collated date on their culture, history etc. We then get a glimpse into life of the previous main architect of the universe, saying that she won't make the same mistakes again, in Roland of Gilead fashion, because you know you have to put in some emotional content into a song so cold and sterile. And then she creates the universe in which her future self will discover the message. Of course an infinite amount of time (therefore rendering time meaningless) will have a elapsed but there you go, they send the frequency with the data and that's how you learn about what happened in the previous iteration.

This song is a belated rebuttal to Ana Matronic (of the Scissor Sisters fame) comment that "nothing is sacred" in relation to their cover of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. At the time I considered this heresy! (it's actually a good cover that I like now) and so I was compelled to write a very serious song about the sacridity of the Floyd back in 2004.

Cassini is a band which seeks to create rock music without boundaries. In addition it is also about big riffs, even bigger guitar solos and prog rock wig outs. Every genre is up for grabs in the experimentation stakes.  The purpose of the Projekt is that no one listens to it. This music isn't for human ears. Viral popularity and societal definitions of success are irrelevant. The Projekt was set up in 2008 by a one Alex Mc Donnell following the breaking up of several previous bands.
