This week's Global Vibe Radio mix features a live recording from Tunnel's performance at Overlook NYE/NYD in Minneapolis.

This performance was performed live in one take using an Octatrack, Digitone, and Digitakt. It is comprised of mostly original material, but also several remixes of artists that have been inspiring and influential of late: Jlin, Andy Stott, Kiesza, The Immortals, Casual Violence, Verset Zero, Noform, and artists from the Webuildmachines label, Comarobot, and Rei-Sen. 

Paying particularly close attention to rhythmic interplay and evolution, combined with an effortless balance between sonic assault and moments of beauty, this live performance marks a creative and artistic evolution for the artist. Elements of techno, dub, breaks, and disco are fused together into a seamless journey that goes beyond a typical dj set into something truly other.

Italian-born  DJ  &  producer  Leonardo  Gonnelli  teams up  with  Forrest  for  a  brilliantly  produced  deep  house  burner ‚Stay’. Leonardo Gonnelli has been in the game since the early 2000’s, and has spinning records in some of the worlds’ biggest stages since  then.  His  releases  have  found  a  spot  in  the  record  bags  of  world-renowned  artists  like  Seth  Troxler,  Loco  Dice,  Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth and more. This one is no exception. W ith the delicate and seductive vocals spilling atmosphere and emotion left  and  right,  the  percussion  holds  the  ship  together;  balancing  the  raw  energy  and  natural  flow  effortlessly.  This  is  an  early morning  anthem that will haunt clubs for the foreseeable future. Alongside  the  original,  you’ll find  a  dub  version leaving most  of the vocals behind in favor of a purer, more electrified club sound to bring dark dancefloors to a rolling boil.

Stefano Noferini and Leonardo Gonnelli are two of the most influential artists in the current house and techno scene. Their many years of experience and contribution to the dance music industry has to be honoured and, therefore, we are very excited to announce their VIVA MUSiC debut with this expertly produced EP.


The Italian pair have both enjoyed illustrious careers, releasing numerous quality records subsequently winning a variety of awards. Noferini’s creation of Deeperfect Records has played a huge impact in both careers, as Gonnelli’s, ‘Whaa’ and ‘She Likes It’, have arguably been his best tracks. 

Many of the world’s best DJs have shown support to Noferini and Gonnelli, as a result of numerous successful releases on big-name labels. The latter has produced on Defected, Knee Deep In Sound, Get Physical and Material whereas Noferini has mostly released his best tracks on his own imprint, Deeperfect.

The quality in this three-track EP exemplifies the countless years of production that both these artists possess and there is no reason why the title track in Awake can’t reach Beatport’s top ten.

The mix was created by using multiple format records (vinyl, CD, cassette and mp3/wav) from the part of Ontal's music library that influenced their sound and life. The developing of music is carefully thoughtful and accurate that can catch attention of every listener from the very first minute. It is more like a sound collage as many tracks beautifully unfolds while they are precisely mixed in a deliberate sequence. High-quality, innovative and in some parts improvisational sound synthesis reflects Ontal's view to their own measured production, its expression and perfection.

\\The CAST Project is a collaboration of fine artists, where there is no original track to start and there are no remixes.

Our concept is aside from the traditional original/remix format. The intent is to give artists an opportunity to go outside what may be expected of them, so as not to be "pigeon holed" and only concentrate on pure musical creativity.

The way it works:

We gather 4 artists per CAST release. Each artist provides audio samples, whether generated by machines or from the field, which best defines their current sound palette. These sounds are created specifically for a CAST release and are not used in further productions.

We collect the sounds from each artist and redistribute them in total to the artists, at which point they create a unique track, which is labeled as a CAST.
