We've all experienced it to a degree. 

A person offloading all of their frustrations on us despite us not doing anything to them at all. It always boggled my mind, why people would do this. 

So I would research for days. I would read articles, read papers, listen to audio books, read an actual book (yes, I'm archaic), and do whatever it took to find out why people do this. And it was a specific book that opened my mind, a book named Why Do I Do that by Joseph Burgo Ph. D. It explained the widely used defensive mechanisms by people and one of them was displacement.

And I wanted to talk about that one today.
