Emma is 24 years old and for the first time in her life, feels she has something to live for. With a new partner, the lovely Danny, they share a flat together and are making plans. 

Drugs, alcohol, and self-harming have all played their part in her young life so far. She had a chaotic family upbringing and developed her own drug habit and started to self-harm in response to an unhappy and often violent previous relationship. 

But her darkest time was last year when she lost a baby and she still suffers pangs of hopelessness now where she questions her faith and God, but without her faith, and the family she has found at the Saturday Gathering, she firmly believes she wouldn’t be here.

Thursday 30 April Prayer During the Day for the Easter Season

We are thrilled to be offering an opportunity for our older callers to select Option 3 on Daily Hope during the month of August to listen in to ‘Holiday at Home on the Phone’. In normal times, many churches offer ‘Holiday at Home’ type sessions for older people who are not able to actually go on holiday. This summer ‘Holiday at Home on the Phone’ on the Daily Hope will give thousands of older people who are still staying at home the opportunity to use their imaginations and memories to take them off to the sea, or the countryside – there is a different theme each day of the week, a poem, reflection, bible verse and a prayer of thanksgiving. There will be the sounds of seagulls, birdsong, and maybe even the sound of an ice cream van! We so hope that these light-hearted reflections will bring some relief for those still having to remain at home, in addition to all the other wonderful options on the Daily Hope.
