Born and raised in England's Black Country, Simon Owen is part of an exciting new wave of electronic artists emerging from the Birmingham underground. Co-founder of the Xenophorm group, he is currently producing for and managing the brands two record labels (Xenophorm Records & xe:tech:no), whilst also holding the position of Chief Engineer at Xenophorm Studios in the heart of the UK's second city.

As a DJ Simon has entertained crowds around the country for nearly a decade with his trademark style of dark, groove-licked Techno at events such as Osmosis, Warpandwoof, The Construct and Bleep Bleep, whilst maintaining his online podcast 'theLAB Sessions', which regularly goes out to over 5000 avid Techno-Heads across the globe.

Born from of the mind of DJ Matrix – one of Birmingham’s Sub-Guests collective, The Construct was created as a retort to the growing trend for formulaic, pigeon hole club nights based more on image than quality of sound. 

We're not saying that a chic, well presented club oozing style and boasting a neon-lit cocktail bar is a bad thing; but when you turn up at a club and find you're surrounded by people facing away from the DJ with £70 hair cuts and are more impressed by the flyer design than the tunes - you know something has gone wrong somewhere....

The Construct is all about getting back to basics.
