Lost My Way

Another lone survivor from the great hard drive crash of 2006.  We've always been one for messing around with genres, so here it is, Bluestep.

Miserly 128kbps, but that's all I've got left!!!  So to any sound snobs out there, yes it sounds pretty terrible, but we've played this on main stages and no-one seems to notice, so there!  haha

Samples Howlin' Wolf obviously, the track's '300 Pounds Of Joy'.  Also realised coincidently, that it uses the same intro as the great and all powerful Mark Lamarr on his radio show.  Great minds...

Anyway enjoy, decided to put it up because a few people have asked after it, so now you can all have it!

Well Measured Vice is the next track from the London based Electronica duo, The Correspondents. After a worldwide festival season in the summer of 2012, The Correspondents set out to record their first album and were only able to do so due to lead MC and vocalist, Mr Brice, breaking his foot whilst in Croatia headlining Saturday night at Stop Making Sense festival. For the first time in four years Chucks and Mr Bruce have been able to spend ample time in the studio and the results are simply mind blowing.

Taken from their first artist album due for release next year, Well Measured Vice is a 4-minute sample of what The Correspondents have been working towards their whole musical career. Get ready.

After two years of blowing up French, European and American stages, Smokey Joe & The Kid present their first release LP “Nasty Tricks” on French record label Banzaï Lab. A dangerously efficient mix of hip hop, electro and old Swing, that even 2Pac and Al Capone couldn’t say no to…

In this project, Smokey Joe (Bordeaux’s main musical mafia head) and The Kid aka “Senbeï,” (cheeky Parisian master of Turntablism), transport us back in time gangsters run streets of 1930’s Chicago. After a 1st EP released in June 2012 (http://www.beatport.com/release/the-grand-ep/911881 ) and of which 2 tracks been on Beatport HipHop Top 100 during 3 months, the duet comes back in March 2013 to confirm that try with their 1st LP “Nasty Tricks”.

The Correspondents consist of singer Mr Bruce and producer Chucks. Both growing up in South London, they formed in 2007 and within two years had taken their hi-octane genre-blending dance music from house parties to festival main stages. 

The show that quickly established the duo as one of the best live acts in the UK (The Telegraph's top 10 Highlights of Glastonbury in two consecutive years) has the monochrome clad Mr Bruce singing with force, scatting at speed and dancing like his life depends on it while Chucks takes the audience on a journey through a multitude of genres from jazz and blues to the nether regions of electro and drum’n’bass. 

Their music releases are just as varied in style and influence. Steve Lamaq says of their 2014 album Puppet Loosely Strung that "Every time I think I've deduced what they sound like they start sounding like something different". 2016 will see a flurry of new releases in the build up to their next album with the same smorgasbord of dancefloor friendly musical treats.

Aside from the music itself The Correspondents have become renowned for their videos that are consistently unique in aesthetic and pioneering in technique. The band are renound for making videos created by in-camera, hand made and analogue processes. These range from meticulously hand drawn animations by Mr Bruce himself or collaborations with Naren Wilks who invented a 'composite camera' technique to describe a space in which synchronised multiples exist in a rotationally symmetric, kaleidoscopic dimension! It won them a UK Music Video Award and Best Production at The Berlin Music Video Awards. 

Recent developments have seen the duo expanding their live show to a include a full band with drummer, bassist and organist. And they have teamed up once again with director Naren Wilks to produce a mind-blowing composite camera audio-visual show.
