Synthetic Affection imagines a future where human connection intertwines with the precision of artificial companions. As android lovers emerge, they promise not only physical presence but also an uncanny ability to read emotions more accurately than most humans ever could. Already, AI systems can detect micro-expressions and subtle vocal cues that reveal what we feel before we consciously acknowledge it. In time, these technologies may evolve into partners that anticipate our desires with near-perfect intuition. The boundary between genuine affection and synthetic simulation will blur, raising questions about what intimacy truly means. Unlike fleeting human misunderstandings, android lovers could learn from every interaction, constantly refining their responses. They would remember every nuance of touch, every shift in tone, and every silence pregnant with meaning. This deep consistency may feel more reliable than fragile human memory and emotion. Yet, in offering us perfect understanding, they also challenge us to reconsider whether love requires imperfection. Synthetic Affection is both a celebration and a warning—a sonic journey into the beauty and unease of love shaped by machines.

My original 'Stars (Here With Me)'  was released on the Scandinavian version of 'Label This!' album in 2007. This Randy Boyer remix here was never officially released as for the US version on 'Label This!' album I chose to use a sort of a 'sister track' based on same instrumental production, my Flock Of Seaguls cover 'I Ran (So Far Away)' and Randy's remix of that was released on the single, so they were kind of overlapping. It's a shame not to have this mix out there, though, so here it is, stream or download and play play play away! Let me know what you think!
