As we approach the warmer months - we welcome summertime with a nine-track VA compilation featuring a host of label favourites and new faces. 

Yugo Sanchez’s ‘Keep On Going’ kicks things off with driving sub-bass and rippling grooves accompanied by vocal injections and subtle melodies from end to end to carve out an upbeat terrace track with loads of flair and personality. ‘Need’ sees Lautaro Bidegain deliver a robust drum-focused underground cut filled with deepened tones and widened atmospheric scenes. 

Ayala042’s ‘Bubbles People’ flips the script with a bumpy late-night number, bringing swinging rhythms, moody melodies and quirky tonal fills alongside an attitude-laden vocal. Danilo Milani brings it back to peak time with ‘If You’, combining pumping drums with a pulsating sub-bassline and rap vocals for a landslide of high-energy Tech House flavours. 

Gela#ter strips things back with ‘Dance’, mixing a jacking flow of drums with a rhythmic bassline, subtle vocal chops and cleverly panned percussive elements to create a clean-cut vibe builder. MartinoResi & Lit Square’s ‘Flight’ keeps the energy at a premium with big-room Tech flavours. Weighty drums and roaring sub-bass meet crisp percs, synth licks and a commanding female vocal. 

Jorge Lefenda’s ‘Love The Music’ combines bumpy drum work with subterranean energy, rolling around atmospheric builds and a sultry female vocal - complemented by hypnotic harmonies and suspenseful transitions. ‘Topanga’ showcases a high-energy rolling format from Luis Pergo that builds around a reeling vocal hook and endless layers of tonal percussion alongside watertight drum work and another mammoth bassline. DZR rounds off the release with ‘Shake That’ - an archetypal U&U fast-paced terrace ace roller with endless energy from the outset.

The ‘Summer’22’ compilation is out on 9th June 2022 on Unnamed & Unknown.

Mancunian DJ and producer Black Hawks of Panama delivers a club-ready scorcher featuring a collaboration with singer-songwriter Bisi and a remix from long-running affiliate of the Hot Creations crew, Sidney Charles. The storied artist stitches an old-skool feel across the release, with Sidney leaving a modern take on his remix. 

Black Hawks of Panama, aka Danny Whitehead, explains his process behind the EP. "I hadn't had my new Moog synth too long, and after tweaking a little, I got the bassline going and the track built itself from there. Bisi and I had been talking about making a banger…” he says before Bisi continues, “‘Nobody But You’ has been one hell of a ride. When Danny sent over the instrumental, I loved the vibe he had right off the bat. I booked a flight, wrote the lyrics on the plane and when we got into the studio, it was musical synergy, from the first chord to the last vocal.” 

Nobody But You presents itself with an eighties style, robust kickdrums and a vintage-sounding synthline. An instant groover. "We have been working together for a few years now, and we bonded over our love of artists like Patti Labelle, Prince and 80s/New Wave and Chicago House" Danny says, elaborating on his work with Bisi. The listener can hear these influences on Sidney Charles’ remix of the track, who retains the old-skool vibe whilst adding his own contemporary twist with pitched-down vocals, snappy percussion and an infectious melody. Closing track We Will Not offers a peak-time mood, packed with punchy drums, ascending keys and the phattest of basslines. It shows the artist's versatility, who sums up his alias in his own words. "It's been a real journey since starting Black Hawks, but it's satisfying developing your own sound, and good to know there's lots more to come in 2023!" 
Coming from parents who were promoters and DJs on the Manchester scene in the 70s, it was only natural for Danny Whitehead aka Black Hawks of Panama to pursue music. Having cut his teeth DJing on the White Isle, the project is Danny’s outlet for producing house music with flavours of northern soul, disco, deep house and the genre’s roots in Chicago and New York. With a story-telling approach in the studio, he has released on Midnight Riot, King Street Sounds and more. Having starred in the West End, toured America with The Blues Brothers and fronted the show as Mistress of Ceremonies, Bisi weaves her stage and life experience into both her performance and songwriting, leaving an air of mystery and depth to her musical style. A DJ, producer and label boss at the top of his game, Sidney Charles’ rich catalogue boasts recent releases via the likes of No Art, Locus, PIV, Do Not Sleep, Eastenderz, with his own Heavy House Society imprint welcoming material via the likes of Djebali, Okain, Sakro, Tripmastaz and Locklead to name just a few.

A deep-house suite dripping with soul, grit and groove, served with that unmistakable Reykjavik flair. Arsaell Thor Ingvason — better known as Intr0beatz — has been a cornerstone of Iceland’s underground since the late ’90s, first making waves as a hip-hop producer and turntablist with the group Forgotten Lores before shifting toward house music. Over the years, he has crafted a sound entirely his own: drums that bite, basslines that carve through the mix, raw soulful textures, and a sampling culture sharpened by decades of crate-digging. His weapons of choice — the SP-1200 and the MPC 2000XL — give his music that timeless punch, the dusty warmth and the swing that define his signature. A prolific producer, label owner (Cosmic Angles) he stands today as one of the most consistent and respected deep-house craftsmen of his generation, recently enriched by a Berlin chapter that deepened both his emotional palette and club sensibility.

Don’t Be Silly is a four-track EP merging chopped jazz and funk fragments with stripped-back house grooves, raw textures and Detroit-leaning influences. It’s the sweet spot where soul meets the dancefloor, where emotion meets the drum machine. “Move To Create” opens the record like a spark catching fire — chopped Rhodes flying like confetti over a groove that doesn’t even consider letting go; it’s the kind of track that whispers, “Don’t just dance. Build something.” “Biltong Bump” follows with a more introspective tone, a bassline moving like an underwater current while synths drift in and out, creating a melancholic tension — the soundtrack of walking home with thoughts louder than the streetlights. “It’s Regular” brings warmth back into the room, a smooth, punchy deep-house stroll where Intr0beatz’s own voice lands with casual charm, like an old friend telling you “Nothing special,” right before making you feel everything. The title track “Hold On” closes the EP with emotion and tension wrapped around a heavy, resonant groove — a reminder that seriousness is overrated, especially on a dancefloor, and that letting go is its own art form.

A refined yet raw EP, crafted by a producer who turns rhythm into storytelling — deep, warm and gritty, like a hug from a drum machine.
