It's New Wave Alt-Rock boasting twin guitars, keys and four part harmonies. With intelligence and honesty, hooks and riffs, tight arrangements and so much weird wired energy, The Disappointed will get under your skin and into your bones.

"I Disagree With Myself" is the brand new single. Infectious, warm, anthemic, upbeat and universal, "I Disagree With Myself" touches on everything. Produced by Dave Parkin (Emperors, Jebediah), the single is an early preview of the band's upcoming second EP, due to drop winter 2014.

Frontman Michael Strong’s folk persona disintegrated after
an undercooked solo album tanked without fanfare.
Strong found his truth buried under that mess, finding his place
in the intense democracy of a writing band. Music played from

The Disappointed hit 2016 with the most pure pop single of their career so far. Start of Something is a modern, warm, all hook production. Refusing to play into one sound or one vibe, SoS is the follow up to the band’s heaviest single so far, JJJ Unearthed fave Find A Rope, on rotation since September. Fans and industry are sure to find the switch up in sound confusing and off-brand. Whatever. The Disappointed are moving into no-fucks given territory. 

in 2015 The Disappointed scored a double nomination for WA rock song of the year and supported The Matches (US), Jon Toogood (Shihad, NZ) and Born Lion (NSW). With national and international performances under their belt and a strong showing in national radio play, The Disappointed are well primed to make a big splash. We Don’t Dream is the new anthem from Perth grunge new wavers The Disappointed. It’s heavy pop, catchy as hell and expertly crafted. WDD is an exploration of the pervasive sense of hopelessness that has infused millennial culture as it slowly inherits the world from the baby boomers. What’s the price we’re paying for the widespread adoption of this worldview and where is this nihilism taking us?				
The Disappointed are perhaps best defined by their mish mash of influences. It’s pretty 90s, but there’s an early 80s New Wave vibe in there and a mid 70s prog thing happening too. There’s this tension in their sound between the classically trained element and a raw pop ethos. The Disappointed are a whole bunch of things at once, a whole bunch of personalities clashing and pushing up against each other.
WDD is taken from upcoming debut album Escapism, the culmination of several years work. The Disappointed warmed up with 3 EPs (including 2014’s very well received Weird Peace, with lead single I Disagree With Myself scoring a bunch of Triple J play and even finding a way onto Netflix via SBS’s Unplugged America), a couple of national tours, supports for The Matches and Jon Toogood (Shihad), even a beer festival in Singapore before knuckling down into the debut album process.
A whole bunch of songs were written, demoed and rejected along the way as the band tried to figure out what the hell it was doing. They found the answer in the enduring friendship that they had formed over their 7 years together, in remembering why they do what they do. The chemistry between the 5 is electric on Escapism, dropping on Blue Grey Pink this October.

It’s been two and a half years of solid work for the Perth five piece, culminating in a double nomination for WAM Song of the Year in 2015 (including current single Weird Peace). Two critically acclaimed EPs, Weird Peace (“Seriously folks, they don’t make pop music like this anymore” - Power of Pop, Singapore) and 2013’s debut Stranger (“...stellar debut EP. These lads are onto gold” - The Music, EP of the Week). International performances, two national tours and a bucket-load of regional shows. Broad national community radio play, a bunch of Triple J spins (not just Home and Hosed) and WA commercial radio appearances. Signed to Perth’s home of indie pop Blue Grey Pink, and hitting the studio in 2015 for EP #3. 

The Disappointed are five grown men with child hearts fighting their way through a packed market the only way they know how: Telling whatever musical truth they stumble on and working the business end from every angle. Dedicated to distilled honesty, un-apologetically flawed and human. Huge choruses, tight arrangements and heaps of little surprises. A loaded sound, harmonically rich, with guitars, keys and the harmonies of four great vocalists. Jagged and lush at the same moment. And it’s super fresh. Frontman Michael Strong is an accomplished songwriter*, but the band writes as a band. There’s always an undercurrent of tension and you can hear it - the sounds of real human interaction, the sounds of real chemistry. 
Live, The Disappointed play bone tight and feral intense. Strong is a jittery, fervent focal point. 
Oh, and it’s got that glorious New Wave feel. The Disappointed will make you feel something.
