France has been responsible for some of the world's best-known house and techno DJs over the years and particularly more recently. At one time it seemed as though our cousins across the Channel were lagging behind the rest of the planet, but with stars like Apollonia, Djebali, Molly, Yamen & EDA, Loquace, D'Julz, Chris Carrier, Phil Weeks, Francois X and many many more breaking through and flying the red, white and blue flag on behalf of their nation, France has really made an impact on the world of house and techno.

One of its newest, and brightest, young stars is Mr KS, who hails from the south of France close to Avignon. In just over a year he has come through with a spate of bouncing, well-crafted house cuts landing himself the debut release on Djebali's ( djebali presents ) label, as well as having music snapped up by Music Is Love, Overall Music, Just Jack and Slowtown Records.

So we thought we should hit him up for a mix, and he's knocked out a seriously good mixtape full of groovy cuts - including a couple of his own recent bits. It's another fantastic installment in our mix series and we're very chuffed to have Mr KS on board. Look out for an interview with the man himself very soon, in the meantime download and enjoy the mix, it's FRESH!

I couldn't help it and i can't deny how good it sounds. this is just an edit to play on my dj sets, and i played it once and everybody wanted it right away. Honestly i was gonna wait to see if Solange or her team or whoever works for her wouldve ask me to do an offical remix so if they still want to, i could make it sound better than that version but ohhhhh, what the hell....
anyways i highly recommend you that new Solange album "A Seat At The Table".

When talking about the roots of House music it’s impossible to ignore the importance of US cities like Detroit, New York and Chicago, but these are not the only US cities to have spawned pioneering producers and DJs linked to the genre. Baltimore was the home of the Basement Boys who released a number of seminal records in the early days of House music. Chris Clayton was a valued member of the Basement Boys who since leaving the group has continued to carve out a career under his solo alias of Karizma and KaytroniK. Chris is now best known to many as Karizma, a veteran DJ with 25 years of experience behind the decks and whose technical ability is second to none. Not only as a member of Pete Tong’s hallowed Radio 1 Hall Of Fame, he’s also a popular Boiler Room guest who regularly flies the globe as a headline DJ. Also a producer with a varied sound that reflects his eclectic range of influences, Karizma’s music has appeared on many of the world best labels ranging from Hyperdub to Defected. Karizma’s next release due to hit stores on the 20th of February, is forthcoming on Marcel Vogel’s label Lumberjacks in Hell, and is a split EP with the label boss himself.

Manchester-based Children Of Zeus' brand of neo-soul infused hip-hop has garnered them plenty of admirers recently, among them Boiler Room, and they were recently brought out by Yussef Kamaal at their Band On The Wall show the other week.

The duo of Konny Kon and Tyler Daley's latest offering is the summer boom-bap belter Don't Say A Word, the flipside to new single I Can't Wait.

With a monthly NTS show and support slots with the likes of Slick Rick, De La Soul, Mos Def, Slum Village and The Pharcyde under their belt, Zeus are picking up some serious heat - 2017 could just be their year. Listen to Don't Say A Word below.
