Taken from the new album 'Minimum Rock N Roll' by Chain and the Gang - due out on Fortuna POP! on 14 April.

Chain and the Gang are led by the hugely charasmatic Ian Svenonius, the prime mover of two of the most essential bands of our time Nation Of Ulysses and The Make-Up. They deal in deal in a new genre called CRIME ROCK that updates rock n roll, blues, and gospel music or vocal quartets from the late 50s /early 60s for the discerning few. Minimum Rock N Roll is minimal and ferocious, lean and mean. This record is a kind of aural austerity with barely any words, hardly any beats, fewer notes - its just EXACTLY ENOUGH.

Tied Up in Nottz

Dimebag Darrell, Sean Yseult and Philip Anselmo created this absurdity at 6am after a long night of drinking on a Pantera/White Zombie Tour in '92. Recorded on Darrell's 4-Track in his hotel room, the song was made up on the spot with Darrell on guitar (and drum machine) Sean on bass, and Phil singing. This comes from a cassette from Sean Yseult's archives, never heard before!

Hailing from the east coast of Australia and currently residing in New York, Young Magic is Isaac, a portable studio, and friends. These songs were recorded over the last six months in various places around the world: old spy bases near Berlin, empty rooms in Iceland, kids’ playgrounds in Melbourne, and no water flats in New York. These various locales are sampled and integrated into the fabric of Young Magic’s sound: the fluidity and songwriting of late 60’s psychedelic soul combined with modern-day beat making.
