Again and again I have to painfully observe that women who want to live their own potentials, their autonomy, their creativity or other strengths, are discriminated against in a concealed or sometimes blatant way. In spite of the important feminist-emancipatory movements, especially in the last 50 years, in many areas of life the classical division of roles - men make the rational, women the emotional labor - still exists. Women who want to free themselves from these rigid role attributions are no longer burned at the stake, as they were in the Middle Age (and some women into the late 19th century!). However, they are often “removed” verbally or physically in other, more perfidious ways. 
This song is a blazing plea for a really profound change in social conditions, which not only offer a few exceptions, but basically women the possibility to find their own autonomous strength.     
And it is also a song for my wife, who is a very strong woman and who is repeatedly attacked for her courage, clarity, inventiveness and assertiveness. 
And it is my deep musical bow to Hypatia of Alexandria, Hildegard von Bingen, Émilie du Châtelet, Mary Wollstonecraft, Simone Weil, Harriet Taylor Mill, Hannah Arendt, Simone de Beauvoir, Donna Haraway, Judith Butler and other great thinkers for achieving the goal of "equality and dignity for all people".
