This is a demo that I wanted to hear from the Erbe-Verb. It's a simple "DRUM" tone from Braids triggered by a steady Maths clock, running through a prototype Erbe-Verb reverb module. The Erbe-Verb is not receiving CV modulation of any kind. Rather, I am controlling everything slowly by hand, one or two parameters at a time.

No post-processing (compression, EQ, etc.).

Erbe-Verb Demo: No CV Modulation

This is a demo of the Erbe-Verb as a feedback path for the Echophon. The Echophon's feedback out is plugged into the Erbe-Verb's input, with the Erbe-Verb's mono output plugged back into the feedback input on the Echophon. Braids "PLUK" (Karplus-Strong string) mode is used as the primary sound source, triggered by a Maths bouncing ball envelope. The Echophon and Erbe-Verb are under full manual control.

Erbophon

This is a demo of the Intellijel/Cylonix Shapeshifter digital oscillator. Here, I am using it alone (no other modules!), patched into itself. I have oscillator 2 in LFO mode, modulating the Ratio, MOD B, and Shape 2 inputs. The Shapeshifter is set to "Perc Mode," and the Pulse output is plugged into the Sync input. I ended up recording about 40 minutes worth of sounds, so here are some of my favorite sections. I tried to make the crossfades obvious, so that you can hear the separate sections.

Shared System Patch. Modules used: Erbe-Verb, DPO, Echophon, Rene, Pressure Points, Optomix, Phonogene. I chose not to use a Maths or Wogglebug. I really wanted everything to be under direct control.

The Phonogene contained a previous Shared System sound. Its End of Slice output was patched to both an Optomix strike (with Phonogene's output as input), and the Rene's X-Clk input. Rene's output was changing the organization of the Phonogene.

Various points were manually controlled by Pressure Points. Channel 2 of the Optomix was a DPO drone. Optomix out->Echophon->Erbe-Verb->Stereo Out.

Shared System Patch: Dependence

A live performance for the Make Noise Shared System series. Primary plunk sound is a DPO run through an Optomix. Maths triggers the Optomix in a semi-irregular way. The sound is run through an Echophon, with the feedback out into an Erbe-Verb. The Erbe-Verb channel one is plugged into a Phonogene in "Broken Echo" mode, which is output into the Echophon Feedback input. The Erbe-Verb stereo outputs are the primary outs for this piece.

This is a pretty experimental patch involving a lot of feedback. The DPO is plugged into itself in many ways, while simultaneously triggering an Optomix to help add percussive envelopes to its output. The Optomix sum output is run through an Erbe-Verb.

New Leaf (Live Modular 04/15/15)

This is an improvised demo of the upcoming Mutable Instruments Warps module. Three drum tones (Mutant Bassdrum, HiHats, and Claps), are mixed together and run through Warps channel 2. Warps channel 1 is simply its internal oscillator. The output of Warps runs through Mutable's Clouds for granular processing. Everything is clocked and modulated by 4ms' QCD + BO, and QPLFO.

Fault is a stereo frequency and pitch shifter with two independent delays and six separate feedback paths. It has a full modular modulation system, featuring variable shape LFOs and envelope followers.

In this demo, a simple beat from Elektron's Analog RYTM runs through Fault with fairly basic settings. Fault has no modulation applied.

Here is an example of Mutable Instruments Stages. It is being used to modulate a single voice of Plaits. A complex, 5-stage envelope is used to modulate the LEVEL input in Plaits Chord Mode. The middle hold stage of the envelope is comprised of two looping stages to provide the rapid tremolo effect.

One of the hold stages is then used to trigger a step sequencer (using 4 stages) that modulates the MORPH parameter on Plaits. That step sequencer finally triggers another step sequencer (using the remaining 3 stages), which in turn modulates the HARMONICS parameter on Plaits.
