To celebrate the Small Faces’ Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame we are releasing   two of the band’s biggest tracks as limited edition 7” vinyl singles with picture sleeves .

They are both authentic recreations of the original UK mono singles and are limited to 2500 copies each . Available through independent record retailers worldwide as part of Record Store Day on April 21st.

They each contain a unique limited edition picture postcard.

‘Itchycoo Park’/’I’m only Dreaming’ CHARLY 102S

The band’s second single for Immediate from August 1967 is an irresistible reminder of the Summer of Love. As a contemporary review noted, ‘This is a complete gas, lyrics, sound, feeling and all’.

‘Tin Soldier’/’I Feel Much Better’ CHARLY 103S

The band’s third single for Immediate from December 1967 is an aching love letter from Steve Marriott to his wife-to-be. An early and rarely matched example of the fusion of rock and soul.

The last five years have seen a massive programme of tape recovery and upgrading with the full co-operation and endorsement of both surviving band members. Kenney Jones has given access to his personal tape archive and many of the band’s original master tapes and session multi-tracks, previously lost for over forty years, have been discovered and re-mastered. It is thus now possible to present the Small Faces’ recordings sounding better than at any time since the 1960s. The Re-Masters series also presents a host of newly discovered tracks and alternative versions, alongside original artwork, photos, rare publicity material and memorabilia with comprehensive new sleeve-notes based around band interviews.

This is the encore from the gig I did with Van Morrison.  Fife Aid, June '88 outside St Andrews in Scotland. After only 2 days rehearsal with a band I'd assembled the week before, we went on and did an unannounced bill-topping hour-long set. The band line-up, which included the cream of Edinburgh's music scene at the time included: Mark Forshaw (Hue & Cry) on drums, Neil & Graham Weir (tpt; tbn) from OMD; Liz MacEwan (bv's); Nick Robertson (alto sax); me (guitar) along with Neil Drinkwater (pno); Clive Culbertson (bass) and June Boyce (bv's) from Van's regular band. Jim Condie - Scots-born guitarist, singer and songwriter - has achieved considerable success as a freelance accompanist, session player and studio musician. Condie's reputation in electric and acoustic blues/Americana/rock music has been earned through working alongside a huge range of performers, legends in their own time, ranging from Van the Man to Hercules the Bear, from Ali Farka Touré to Rab C Nesbitt, Sugar Blue to Louisiana Red, Mose Scarlett to Sam Brown, Tam White to Alan Black (my, what a colourful bunch!) - the list could go on forever! In addition, his session work for the BBC has included loads of soundtrack work, one of the best known being the theme from BBC tv's Rab C Nesbitt! He has been featured on albums by Amos Garrett, Tam White, The Dexters, the Rootsie Tootsie Band, The Soup Dragons, Mose Scarlett, Davie Paton, Curtis E Johnson, Cousti and Blueflint.

In 2002, building on his success behind other performers, and encouraged by fans and fellow musicians, Jim, at the ripe old age of 50 realised a long held ambition - the recording and release of his first solo CD, Distant Cousins. This blends his love of American traditional music with self-penned and contemporary songs and instrumentals that serve as a showcase for his talents on vocals, acoustic guitar, Dobro, mandolin, lap steel and bass.
