Originating in a student house in Chester, Fxymrns (Foxymorons) are a four-piece capable of blending intriguing riffs and powerful vocals to create their own unique sound. Formed at the beginning of 2017, the band features three singer/songwriters: Nathan Davies (guitarist), George Smith (guitarist) and Ethan Brokenshire (bassist), in addition to drummer Connor Walker. The band draws inspiration from a variety of indie, rock and blues influences, with each member demonstrating their own style through the songs they write. Though still a young band, songs such as ‘Carry You’, ‘Transatlantic’ and ‘Without You’ are fast becoming crowd favourites, while covers of jazz classic ‘Summertime’ and The Beatles’ ‘One After 909’ complement every set in a smooth and appropriate fashion. Despite being known as open mic regulars in and around Chester, the band are always keen to play full shows where heavy potential lies, though acoustic sets are never a rarity.
