Don Ohkami on banjo, guitar, resoguitar and vocals) have dedicated themselves to exploring just how wide a range of sounds it’s possible to get out of two instruments that are not commonly seen together - and just how wide a range of musical material can be interpreted, processed or deconstructed with them. Inspired by rock, folk, blues, punk and a bit of Jacques Derrida, and fed by top class musicianship, their sound varies from serene ballads to distortion-fed noise explosions – and is anything but what you might have expected from cello-banjo duets. You’ll be amazed by 9 and 10 strings worth of awesomeness as they put their unique and sometimes ironic stamp on a selection of Finnish and English language material own, known and obscure.
