Following on from the release of their punk crazed EP entitled ‘Repulsion Seminar’ which initiated a massive buzz surrounding the band, Brighton’s The Gaa Gaas are now set to cause more mayhem with their raging new single ‘Voltaire’ which will be the first release on newly founded The Playground Recordings.

Produced by James Aparicio (Nick Cave, Mogwai)and mixed/mastered by Robert Harder (Brian Eno, The Slits), this raucous and ear-splitting track which is to be released on 31st October 2010 creates a relentless dark resonance, with its pounding bass line and rhythmic guitar riff calling to mind a gothic-tinged version of The Rapture. Lyrically, lead singer Gavin superbly compliments the constant, pulsating drum sequence with his loud, persistent and in your face vocals. The B-side features a banging electro remix produced by Kitsune heavyweights Punx Soundcheck.

After performing various European festivals this year, the band have confirmed a number of upcoming gig dates including the Monto Water Rats on Sunday 10th October, their ‘V.O.L.T.A.I.R.E.’ single launch at 93 Feet East on Saturday 30th October, and Berlin’s Bang Bang Club on Saturday 13th November.

Following on from the release of their raucous ear damaging debut offering 'Voltaire'. The once goth-noise epic revivalists, now punk rock contender's are back with a new single promising an album under way. For those of you who thought they were gone for good. Look again, as they treat you to another slice of their feedback rich, hook laden racket.

London/Brighton based Psyche Rocker's The Gaa Gaas are back after a long hiatus with new single 'Close Your Eyes' combining a feel of such greats as The Adverts, The Fall, and The Specials. The song is a controversial message inspired by recent catastrophic events in Syria and has an old school punk sensibility about it.

The line up consists of Gavin Tate on vocal and guitar, Jamey Exton on bass, Stewart Brown on drums and Peter Hass on keyboards.

The single produced by Ali Gavan (Former member of The Electric Soft Parade) and mastered by Robert Harder (Babyshambles, White Rose Movement) is released on 7" and Digital format on Monday 29th of February on their own label Movement-2 Records, backed with the melodic Seventeen Seconds Cure-esque B-side 'Indian Giver'.

The band are set to tour the UK and Europe in May and will begin recording their debut album in Autumn 2017 set for release that winter.

A music video by the acclaimed director of Versace adverts, Boldizsar CR will be unleashed to coincide with the single release.

The Gaa Gaas - Close Your Eyes (DJ Vanian's I Love Algy Mix)

Formed after meeting at a garage punk club night called ‘Bomp’ hosted at venues in St Helier, Jersey Channel Islands. The weekly event made a huge impact on the islands growing music scene in the same vein as the influential Dirty Water Club.

After two years of perfecting the live show come the end of 2005, the band relocated to Brighton and began touring persistently throughout the UK and Europe gaining a steady fan base in Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland.

With half a dozen singles and two 5 track EP's delivered, also two split singles and various songs released on a number of compilations earning a somewhat cult status, second effort Repulsion Seminar EP received positive reviews and demonstrated a maturing sound and vision.

Debut single ‘V.O.L.T.A.I.R.E.’ was produced by James Aparicio (Nick Cave, Mogwai) and mixed/mastered by Robert Harder (Brian Eno, The Slits) and was released on The Playground Records in October 2010, later to be re-released.

Latest single 'Close Your Eyes' was produced by Ali Gavan (Former member of The Electric Soft Parade) and released on the groups own label Movement-2 Records. The band are currently based in Jersey and Brighton UK with a first studio album released in 2019/2023.
