The brainchild of Moon Music Orchestra guitar hero Tommy Hinkley, the Wandering Horse combine classic sounding songs in the tradition of Dylan’s late seventies period and Laurel Canyon era Neil Young  with shades of Jason Pierce’s mellower soulful Spiritualized explorations. The Gladstone www.theglad.co.uk is tucked away on a small Dickensian side street just around the corner from Borough tube station, five minutes from London Bridge, ten from the South Bank. Run by musicians, we’ve been called ‘south London’s coolest little pub’ by Time Out. We’re a pub, a venue and a label all rolled into one.

We're tiny, sixty capacity at a squeeze. We have no stage, we clear the furniture away from the back wall and set the bands up there. We don't mic any amps,or any kits, the bands sound as they should, without interference. We never charge in on the door, we know what circuit venues are like, and we know we don't want our place to ever get like that. The room is intimate and intense, and sounds fantastic. Over the years we've had everyone from the late legendary country star Larry Jon Wilson to Fionn Regan, Noah and the Whale, Ellie Goulding, Dry The River, Danny & The Champions of the World, Southern Tenant Folk Union, Smoke Fairies, the Loose Salute, Treetop Flyers, Viv Albertine, Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou, Erin K & Tash, Redlands Palamino Co., Nic Dawson Kelly and many more down here. We run two labels, Superglad Records and the Gladstone Cassettes series and we have our own stage outside the Tate Modern at the South Bank ‘Merge Festival’ autumn 2011.
