We are The Great Wilderness, a 4 all-girl band from San José, Costa Rica. Our music is heavily influenced by dream rock, british post-punk and shoegaze. We have released two EP's: Afterimages of Glowing Visions, and Tiny Monsters, both made in 2010. The Great Wilderness is a dream rock band from San José, Costa Rica influenced by British post punk, alternative rock and inspired by bands such as B.R.M.C., The Big Pink, M83, Joy Division and Sonic Youth. The group is formed by Paola Rogue (vox, guitar), Jimena Torres (guitars), Andrea San Gil (drums, vox) and Monserrat Vargas (bass, vox). 

In June 2010, they self-released their first EP titled Afterimages of Glowing Visions, a 5 song semi-conceptual work based on a post-apocalyptic dream that evoques an exploration of one’s inner world. The album is available as a free download at: thegreatwilderness.bandcamp.com
